He did well when he played for Rome. Many claim that Italian football is slower, more technical and less psysical compared to PL. I sometimes get that impression that its less psysical myself the few times I watch a serie A-game. And that can off course explain why Lamela did better in Italy (but did he, really?).
On the other side, Juventus really know how to speed up when they need to, and I thought all top divisions were quite phsysical(?). Isn't the old saying that english football is more psysical just an old myth due to the fact that english football was less technical (back in the 80's etc), and what then was left and dominated the game was the psysical aspect?
Is this an explaination today? Serie A is at least not more technical than PL today. But maybe slower..?
