With McClaren gone, which of our boys will get a chance with the next guy, and who do we think wont?
I think Robbo will be back in goal, especially if Ramos can get him lean and mean. Defoe and Bent I think will depend on if any of them can get significant game time. Ramos likes to rotate his strikers so they could get games, but will it be enough?
King, if he can maintain fitness, will surely get a chance, but I think Daws will be too far behind the copious amounts of centre backs England have.
Lennon will get game time, especially if he can refine his end ball. Beckham will be very much on the edge of things, and I think Lennon is better than SWP.
Then there is Jenas and Huddlestone. Will the new manager totally revolutionise the midfield, dropping the underperforming Fat Frank and Gerard? Jenas could get a chance if, IF, he can get some consistency. Huddlestone has the potential to be a top class holding midfielder, if he can improve his mobility. His passing is probably the best this country has to offer right now. I think he has a serious chance to get into the squad and push for a regular spot because he offers something few others do.
I think they have a much better chance overall under a new, accomplished manager than under McClown. Hopefully Ramos can bring the best out of our boys and then they can rescue the national team.
