I'm sat here wondering how the same players who rushed Jol against the villa when Kaboul scored where the same that failed to perform for the guy when he needed them to. Berbatov on Monday was out of order (in my opinon), Lennon's form has sucked a duck for way too long now, Robbo showed no signs of turning his own form around, Kaboul clearly doesn't listen to advice, Chimbonda still looses possesion more than Atouba ever did (and he was mince) and young players haven't developed at all, the hudd looks all at sea, Dawson has regressed, Routledge keeps being kept at the club. Our Bright spots this season have been Robbie Keane, Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe who's dignity has been a reflection of jol himself.

Have they been just treading water while waiting for a new guy to come in? Do they not realise that its we not the club who pay their wages? Are they relieved this morning that the man who's made many of their careers has now gone from the club? How many wanted him out? Who was giving the ultimatums to Levy and the rest of the sesame street crew in the board room? He goes or I go? Why would bringing in a new manager cahnge any of their form or attitudes?

I'm jsut not sure the players have covered themselves in glory here. What do you lot think?

Great points all, but surley this all comes down to coaching, why has Lennon been so piss poor for over a year ?? i do agree that alot of those players need a good kick up the arse, and hopefully Ramos can do it.

Fear and glee....and it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. That's why the first game under a new manager usually has the "light fire under ass" effect, because the squad will be evaluated from a clean slate (unless, say, at Chelski etc). Those that wanted the old manager out will feel liberated and tend to play better as a result. Of course, 50% more of dire might not neccessarily win games....

apparently, defoe was 'buzzing' after last night's game.

Chimbonda said the team knew about the sacking before the game

Hallo mate, how was Berbatov last night, was he disgraceful or just average.

Now I know you're being a sarky git, but I'm going to answer anyway.

I was very happy with him. He didn't have a blinding game, no-one did and it was a surreal atmosphere, but at least he played like he gives a toss about his club, his team mates and his fans.

What I don't like is that Berbs strop on Monday (and training ground on Tues by all accounts) was the final nail in Jol's coffin. I hope he's proud of himself.

Reminiscent of..."What's the last thing which goes through an insects mind when it hits a windscreen?"

(Nothing will convince me the players ran to Jol against Villa.)

Thanks for your opinion mate. In my view, Jol was gone well before that incident. Fans don't know it, but Jol was guilty for the rift between him and Berbatov, not he latter. Of course I cannot prove it, but it's a fact. I told you yesterday that Berba cannot stand Jol and Daily Mail confirmed it today by reporting about their bust-up on Tuesday. I don't make up stories mate. Normally Berbatov is very shy and hates bust-ups and whatever conflicts. In 3-4 weeks he will be great again, and from February onward - a center-forward from another planet, better than last Spring.

I can well believe all that. I just hope he (along with a fair few other players, don't want to single Berbs out) has a good look in the mirror, and contemplates the part he (they) played in the whole shambles. From the sounds of it, Ramos will not tolerate dummies being spat out, but he has handled Kanoute well.

I hope to see a happier, on form, more commited (as he looked last night - how many headers did he win? LOADS! How many times did he chase the ball down? LOADS! That's more like it!!!) Berbs for the rest of the season.

Can you at least tell us if your connection to Berbs is immediate, or more obtuse? And is it personal or professional? Or are you just a very observant follower?
Or Indeed are you a Bulgarian journo? I'm genuinely interested :)

Well, when you have choosen Spurs over Man U and when you remain with Spurs after a great season, you have the fucking right to be unhappy to sit on the bench, especially if the other strikers are not in your class. Last season, Eto'o refused to warm up. No one made a tragedy out of it.

In fairness berbatov's been getting the stick for his antics this week but I'm more concerned with the players form on the pitch and he was good I thought last nite. Ok he didn't score but he set one up and chased a lot of ball and cleared a lot of ball defensively as well.

What I'm more concerned about is wht the players are thinking now, was it wham bam thank you man for the memories or was it, shit I just got a really decent guy the sack. It may be expecting too much of them to think the latter. Are they just getting their new master league under way on Pro Evo 08 and not really concerned with Jol's departure?

Another thing is occuring to me now as well. I liked Jol more than any of the current players at this club. Seriously, thats never happened in my twenty one years as a spurs fan before.
