Well, when you have choosen Spurs over Man U and when you remain with Spurs after a great season, you have the fucking right to be unhappy to sit on the bench, especially if the other strikers are not in your class. Last season, Eto'o refused to warm up. No one made a tragedy out of it.

Strawman much, Berbati? The exact reverse is true for Barca compared to us, Eto'o can afford to pull that kind of stunt because of his work ethic on the pitch, and more importantly, he has a cutting edge that their overly elaborate at times midfield is unable to supply. None of which is relevant to OUR situation, and you can hardly claim Berbatov has the almost maniacal desire to win that Eto'o posesses.

Our strikers are doing badly because of our midfield, and Berbatov has hardly lit the house up either with virtuso solo performances. So I don't get this uppity attitude. If he treats the club like a stepping stone to Manyoo we'll happily cash in and give him an almighty boot on the ass, thank you very much.

I can well believe all that. I just hope he (along with a fair few other players, don't want to single Berbs out) has a good look in the mirror, and contemplates the part he (they) played in the whole shambles. From the sounds of it, Ramos will not tolerate dummies being spat out, but he has handled Kanoute well.

I hope to see a happier, on form, more commited (as he looked last night - how many headers did he win? LOADS! How many times did he chase the ball down? LOADS! That's more like it!!!) Berbs for the rest of the season.

Can you at least tell us if your connection to Berbs is immediate, or more obtuse? And is it personal or professional? Or are you just a very observant follower?
Or Indeed are you a Bulgarian journo? I'm genuinely interested :)

I'm not a journo and I don't like journo's very much. At the moment Berbatov doesn't talk to Bulgarian journos, because they wrote some really stupid comments about his performances (he was declared guilty for Bulgaria nor qualifying for Euro 2008, even though the other players bar Martin Petrov are crap) and he avoids any contacts with them. I cannot say anymore. I'd give Spurs fans only simple advice: stand FIRMLY behind him and he will produce the goods. The man is more talented than 99% of fans and journos realise.

Football players never really grow up. They probably have the same reaction when a headmaster gets the chop. We probably have the most immature squad in the UK. There are no deep waters I can see that will reflect on what Jol did for us.

Sevilla make great buisness with players who consider Sevilla as a stepping stone to Real, Barca etc. If Spurs give signals that they would not tolerate using them as a stepping stone to Man U etc, then the chance to sign great players sinks dramatically. When Berbatov was signed, he was informally told that if he makes two great seasons with Spurs, Levy would allow him to leave, provided that there comes a good offer (in the region of 20-25 mill) With less money Sevilla won much more than Spurs. Because they are clever enough and know how to progress.

Sevilla have Monchi. We're not even in the same league in terms of talent discovery, so churning your players comes with a much high level of risk. The EPL is not the Liga, to advance beyond 5th we needed SUSTAINED pressure, which means squad continuity. What you're suggesting will only move us backwards.

Nobody is dissing Berbatov's level of talent, just his antics. And if what you say is true, Levy has already agreed with me. What our star striker's NOT supposed to do is be an absolute prima donna and assume the club revolves around him. The 4 striker situation was evidently approved by the board, or it would never have happened. If he has any issues he would take it up with Levy, and not act out his farce in front of thousands of fans putting pressure on his manager whose job is HANGING by a thread. I don't care how good he is, such behaviour can only be detrimental in the locker room. Villarreal kindly asked Riquelme to fuck off back home and have been better for it.

OK, you have a point but I still disagree. Hopefully Spurs will progres under Ramos a lot. If that happens, Berbatov may stay till the end of his contract, who knows?

Don't get me wrong, I WANT to keep him. But that "perf" helped no one, not even himself. Just put yourself in his shoes, if you did that in front of the "world" and loyal fans, why would any club pony up 20-25m to bring you over, assuming your heart lays elsewhere? I'm sure Levy isn't happy either. But like you said, if Ramos manages to improve our midfield, he might consider staying, seeing how Tevez is most likely Manyoo's choice of Rooney's striker partner now.

I hope that what is going through the players' minds today is how ashamed they are that they didn't put any kind of a fight to help keep Martin's job. We kept hearing in the media how much the players were behind the big man but we saw precious little evidence of it on the field. And that, after all, is where it counts.

Bring back Jol, sell the useless ****s, he plays. My estimation of Berbatov, has gone down a great deal. 25 mil, let's sell. Seem's like he misses a game, and get a strop on. He needs to look at how Defoe has behaved, and take not.

Still in favour of extracting maximum mileage from him, assuming his mini-Sheva (admittedly more public) action didn't cost him irreversably in the locker room. A new manager should help. But if Spurs don't make the UEFA I can easily see him pushing the button on a move to Spain (which he has said he would to play in). Real, the Milans....lots of possibilities. Would they want to pay 25m though?

Now I know you're being a sarky git, but I'm going to answer anyway.

I was very happy with him. He didn't have a blinding game, no-one did and it was a surreal atmosphere, but at least he played like he gives a toss about his club, his team mates and his fans.

What I don't like is that Berbs strop on Monday (and training ground on Tues by all accounts) was the final nail in Jol's coffin. I hope he's proud of himself.

What training ground incident was this? Did I miss something?
