Half the time songs start, but at the moment thet get stopped every 5 seconds by the groans when another easy pass goes astray.

It's easy to say we should be singing up, but when you're stood there watching things fall apart the songs always dry up, especially when there's very little positives to cling to.

thats is pretty much spot on, although we were singing our hearts out alot today, did the topic starter actually go to the game?.........no, at points the chanting was awesome, it made me smile and think of when i was at Wigan away when Davids scored

Not that there's alot to smile about at the moment, I did have a chuckle when a fella behind me bellowed out on his own "Martin Jols blue and Wh..... didn't finish the song and everybody laughed.

lets not start having a go at people whatching on tv. :-| I don't get to many games because i work shift work and for travel cost and actually buying the ticket i can't really afford it. I don't make a lot of money and i'd hope all those who can get to the game would be my voice and shout the roof off. as a player even when the chips are down its a lift to here people cheering for you.

I appriciate you all sit in the rain through thick and thin but don't start having a go at people who can't get to the game. If i could afford to go or wasn't always working i'd be there.

it seemed to go quite after they scored there 1st. 1st half i thought both fans and the team were good, we played some really good stuff, we just seemed to "shit it" once they got there lucky goal.

things will get better (cant get much worse......can it?)

Sunday games always seem to be a bit quiet! But there was a deflated atmosphere today. I just didn't feel like singing at times especially when I see players on a lot of money not giving a shit!!

I understand that people have to watch at home and can't get to games for many reasons, but please don't insult the fans who do go. We just get fed up with the long journey home after a disappointing result.

The team give us nothing to cheer about thats why we were quiet. I'm getting bored going to Spurs every other week watching us play the worst football in the whole Premier League. Only Derby play worse than us. If we were losing and playing quality football then maybe I could bring myself to cheer , but there is no entertainment anymore at the Lane (except from the opposition).

its a two way thing and blackburns pitiful away support didn't help matters. the best atmospheres are always when we either play a big team or when a side bring a good away following.

the support first half i didn't think was bad at all all things considering, and when we did score the fans got right behind the team, however once they scored and we do our usual 'we'll sit back and let you come on to us for the remainder of the game', it's very hard to get motivated.

its like deja vu each match at the moment.

can't remember what team but there is a guy who rings the bell pretty much the whole game. its bloody annoying but atleast he's trying to get something going with his supporters.

do you go to the game thinking if we losing or playing bad i wont bother singing? thats when they need you the most.

Portsmouth have the bell man who also wears no top no matter what the weather!

I don't go with that attitude - no fan does - but it's hard to get motivated when the atmosphere is flat. Within 5 mins of kick off you know whether the crowd is going to be electric or not. It's a 2 way process, we need them to inpsire us, and they need us to motivate them.

John Westwood, Portsmouth fan. He's a bloody nutter, he always gets the Portsmouth fans chanting like 95% of the game.

yeah i understand. i can imagine, even if you wanted to, standing up on your own trying to get a crowd going could be impossible.

do you think the players go out thinking "i can't be arsed to put any effort in"?

I'd be surprised if they had that sort of attitude despite what body language they show.

If players contracts were: £0.00 if you lose, £20,000 if you draw, £80,000 if you win then you'd see a 1000% increase in every players efforts

In another thread about what would you like to change at the lane I said (jokingly) performance related pay! Fans vote and give players rating and that's what they get paid eg 3/10 = 30% 6/10 = 60% etc. No-one would ever give 10/10 so a 9/10 would be 100%. I know it'll NEVER happen, but I still like to rant about it when I see players earning my annual wages per week I get angry when they look like they're not bothering!

Rant over!

Thats the 1 thing I would change, pay structure. I would lovew my idea to come into the Premier League, no reason that it couldn't is there?

For a club like Spurs there is no reason it could not work but I agree for a team like Derby coming into the Premier League then it would be unfair.
