I always play a game of how many Utd fans I can spot driving south down the M6 and M40 when coming back from Old Trafford
Having known a fair few Man U fans growing up, I always thought the line about most of them being from dahn saaf was just a joke to make fun of them with.

Imagine my stunned surprise when I drove back down to London via the M40, and found the Oxford service to be utterly inundated with the fuckers on the way back from the home Manchester derby!

Forest, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry. Grew up watching them in the league before going down and not heading up. Quite like Blackburn too.

Like Hull and Bournemouth for their managers for playing football proper. Good guys at the helm.

Barnet, because my old man played there a bit back in the day.
oh yeah i also follow barnet , i was born and grew up in the area when i was very young and even though i moved away when i was about 4 to Borehamwood i had a lot of family living in that general area still. I always keep an eye out for their results.

The football they play is shite and their former chairman was a right git, but I like West Bromwich because their fans bounce up and down, have funny voices, answer to a silly name (the Baggies) and wear fancy dress (on the last day of the season at least).

It's like they're a tribe of tall, non-orange Oompah-Loompahs. And what's not to like about that?

Also, there's the whole black player thing in the 1970s, Nacer and Jake, Cat Deeley, 'Liquidator' by the Harry J Allstars, plus it's the only place on earth where anyone uses the word 'throstle'.

But, mostly I like West Bromwich because they really, really, really loathe Wolves. And Wolves are ****s. So, as long as I don't actually have to watch them attempt to play football, then I do quite like the Baggies.

Fuck Everton, I'll never forgive them for the semi final.

Fuck Forest too, I'll never forgive them for the replayed quarter final after the original game was abandoned for snow while we were winning.

I like Bournemouth, they try to play the right way, have a likeable manager and a couple of Spurs youth products. Burnley ditto on all that.

Reading as my other half is from there/ supports them and I always looked out for Darren Caskey once he left.

Abroad is a case of who had players I idolised when I was growing up. Juventus because of Del Piero, Barcelona because of Rivaldo, Dortmund because of Sammer.

Preston for no other reason that we wear white because of them.

Got to do the pitch invasion thing last year with the cobblers...

We've got a family season ticket at Northampton Town. The wifes family are all massive cobblers fans so I tag a long every other Saturday. It can be quite awful football at times but the kids are also Spurs fans so its a nice balance - best of both worlds!. The kids also know that if Spurs ever play Northampton, they know what team to support.

Other than the cobblers I have soft spots for Hull as I went to Uni there and Sunderland as one of my best mates is a long suffering SAFC fan. My other close mate is a Chelsea fan...I refuse to stoop that low. :)
Thats the team I was going to say. They are my second team, as I used to live in Milton Keynes. I used to watch them quite a lot in the late 90's, home and away.

Other than that, PNE as I now live in Manchester but lived in Preston from 02-15 and my boys still live there and they watch them with their Step Dad.

Everton and Stoke both annoy me because their fans are the biggest bunch of moaners going. As soon as someone dares to fairly overpower one of their players the fans are booing the ref and crying for a free-kick.

My step dad used to take me to see Boro' whenever possible. Usually when I was dragged oop norf to see family. If you think us longer serving fans of spurs are a pessimistic lot (although it's rapidly fading) have a conversation with them. Theres no more self depreciating fan. Usually very funny. It''s a shame as their chairman was solid.

I went to see them play Arsenal back in the days of Petit etc. I was in the away end with the old man, Boro were smashed 0-6! I recall hearing, after goal 5,(in northern) "oi, Pet-tit, you fucking poncy basted, go get a man's hair cut you French tit, mun" . It was was right by the goal area and he looked up lookong really pissed off.

Also like Darlington. The old ground you had to walk across a cricket pitch to get to it. Good memories.

Lived in Brighton for a while. Decent bunch. Good to see them up. Cracking venue for an away game!

I guess if it's even more general I have others to add.

Barca. Been a fan of theirs since 1992. Basically because of the Olympics. They were fairly shit back then too, so watching their meteoric rise was a nice escape from following Spurs in the 90s. I say 'watch' but apart from the occasional European match it was pretty much checking their results on Ceefax.

Bristol Rovers and Bristol City. Since living down here I've followed their results and watched both of them live. I prefer Rovers because their nickname is the Pirates (or 'the Gas') but both teams are pretty awful.

Millwall because quite a few of my friends back in Kent support them.

Gillingham because most of my family are/were Gills fans.

Luton Town because I had a successful trial for them when I was a kid.

Norwich due to living here and having a season ticket there with my grandad in my early teens. Great club and supporters.

Porto since the early noughties. I watched a few games on tv when deco, carvhalo, costina, derlei, maniche etc were all coming through. They then won the uefa cup and champs league. What a team they were! Old heads like Vitor Baia and Jorge Costa lead the team and the youngsters gave them legs. Always look for their results in the champs league.

Southampton because of Le Tiss being a Guernseyman, plus one of the few teams I have had the opportunity to watch (whilst on a minis rugby tour in the early 90's. Likewise Pompey because they used to have a couple of Guernseymen in their squad. Also always kept an eye out for Forest as they were the first team i saw live
