That would be fairytale stuff. In reality though, i hope in some ways there isn't too much riding on that final game at WHL as it could be distracting for the players and fans and has the potential for a real party pooper type scenario from Mourinho.

That would be the dream scenario, most important thing for me is to win the last game at WHL and then everything after is secondary as I would hate to see it turn into the cringe fest that was West hams send off. Personally I think at most bring on a few legends, especially any players that won trophies, maybe a bit of a video montage of the best bits at WHL and that's it, no "celebs" or singers etc.

Edit-If we have to have music then Maybe a bit of Diamond Lights from Hoddle and Waddle ;)

I'm looking forward to the boys parading the Premier league trophy round the ground as the best send off, I'm sure Manchester United will be gracious enough to present a guard of honour too.
yep, that'll do me.

Adele is a good shout. What a coup that would be

I'll give her a buzz and see if she can pencil us in

Any ex spurs turning up that you'd be unhappy with or would you welcome them all with open arms?

Adele would do it. Global star 'n all that. Good publicity for the new ground as we'll be hosting concerts as well.

Would you welcome Berbatov?

Probably wouldn't react to be honest. I know he went on strike and forced the club's hand with where he went but technically Bale went on strike and Modric was desperate to join the chavs which for me is arguably worse. That said it was the teams he was in that saw us push back into consistent European spots. Wouldn't welcome him with open arms but certainly wouldn't be negative about it if he could be arsed turning up in the first place

Maybe we could recreate the Blackburn game from a few years ago and lose 4-0, ending the game by throwing our season tickets onto the pitch?

I'm welling up here with the nostalgia of it all...
I'd argue that is was because the fans knew their history that they could recognise how far off course we were that season and demand change. And change came. Perhaps that was a significant moment.

Anyway there is nothing wrong in looking back every now and then, to get your bearings, and if fans can't indulge themselves in a bit of nostalgia for the last game at WHL, then I'm struggling to understand what any of it means to them at all.

my season ticket went on the pitch that day, and I wasn't even there. I let a someone borrow it (didn't even know them, they were friends of people I used to meet up with) for that match as I was unable to go, and they chucked it the ****s

I hope they put some effort in and invite all players that represented us in a Spurs shirt, apart from judas of course

I said my goodbye to WHL version.1 when I was there in September.

A 50 year spread from 1966 to 2016 in attendances, hundred of visits to the old place. Mostly great and good visits, one or two dour and downright depressing ones. That was my time

I live in Ireland now and won't be back anytime soon as far as I know, but then again ............

never did get the chance to cab you while in Hertford, good luck in your move.

my last visit might be M'boro 4/2/2017, depending on the guy that offered my daughter 2 tickets not letting us down, just hope it's a better result than my last 2 visits to the Lane, both 1-1 draws v WBA "Yes the 1 that ended any hope really" last season.

I staggered home after being in the Haig- with a kebab under my arm a few times in November, once after the West Ham evening game, but both times too pissed to get a taxi...

Might be back on an odd occasion.

It'll be a sad day. A few memories spring to mind......

Girls walking around the pitch with trays hung around their necks selling peanuts
Great hairy arsed blokes carrying the same, calling 'peanuts!, peanuts!'
The floodlight pylons
The half time "A B C D" boards with the scores of the other games
Standing
The shelf
Wading ankle deep through piss for a slash
Hoddles' volley v Utd
Seeing myself standing in the Paxton on 'The Big Match' in 1976
Gathering on the pitch and singing 'we'll support you ever more' when we got relegated (Imagine the carnage if that happened today)
Laughing my head off at the sight of my grandson trying to eat a footlong
Watching Enfield v Barnsley in an FA Cup replay from the building site that was the West Stand
Hoddle's last goal
For some strange reason an Alan Brazil hat-trick which I think got us into Europe (when we treated it as if it mattered)
Peter Taylor on the wing
Don McAllisters diving header v Bolton in front of 50,000 in the old Div 2
Bristol Rovers
The ticker tape style reception for Ardiles & Villa - then losing 4-1
Van Den Hauwe & Stuart Pearce having at it
The flags waving during the 4-4 Villa game celebrations
Beating 'unbeatable' Bayern Munich 2-0 after losing 1-0 over there. Fuck you Paul 'we've already gone through' Brietner.
Wild celebrations in the Park Lane when Robbo scored v Anderlecht
Even wilder ones when Tony Parks made the save

Countless other games, incidents and goals..........Jesus that place has been a big part of my life. I feel old.

Hey Old Timer, I remember most of the above plus a few of my own memories ..

SId Wale and Co up in the directors box above the shelf counting the money
The smell of horseshit
A pitch of sand
Park Lane End escapades added to some Paxton Road escapades.
The crappiest PA system in the world.
Schoolboys entrance
European nights
Terraced houses in Paxton Rd and Park Lane, where fans left there bikes in the hallways, no doubt for 3d a time
The gates opening about 20 minutes before the end of the match - if you were brave you could fight the flow of the early leavers and get a little 10-15 minute freebie
Sitting in a box in the 'new' East stand versus Millwall and having a lovely fried breakfast then drinking the place dry plus being asked to leave as everyone else had gone home.
A Neutral vist for the FA Cup semi final Liverpool vs Southampton in the mid 1980's - Mark Wright broke his leg.
The FA cup replay vs Derby 3-5 I think.
Knowing that whatever attendance was announced it had been shaved by about 10% for the THFC slush fund
The shitty ballot system for cup finals.
The corner pin
01-808-1020
Enamel badges
The 1972 UEFA cup final ... An anti climax - Big Chiv won that one for us at Molyneux.
Queueing for tickets on Sunday mornings....
That announcement ... About tickets being available for the final before the Arsenal game had finished .....
My first ever vist to WHL - A 3-1 win in 1966 against Woolwich.
The Big Match cameras
Silk scarves
Nutty Naylor, who became a postman after his pro career finished.
Sitting on the concrete terracing watching us in the bad sad days of the 1970's
The Jimmy Greaves testimonial
Eddie Bailey coming to the rescue.
Which Morgan was the DJ ?
Jimmy Neighbour on the wing

We don't need a send off because we're not going anywhere. We're mainly upgrading a bunch of stands from the 80's and 90's.

Ok, in fairness, the east stand is old and historic. but the stadium has been razed and reborn dozens of times, and I'm not looking on this time as anything more than the most comprehensive remodelling in a long line.

This is just IMO. I know many feel differently and I completely respect that. I do hold this opinion pretty strongly though.
