1. King- for his calming influence on our so- called defence

2. Bale- finally brought balance to LM. Amazing impact for one so young. The only one who can actually deliver dangerous set pieces too.

3. Lee- solid, no credible alternative

4. Lennon - his pace is a must either as a starter or a sub.

Unfortunately 2 out of 4 are injured and the other 2 have had long term recent injuries.

Everyone else is so to speak expendable as there are options. Especially in CM where all of them are equally average. But this is not a thread about our quality or otherwise - there have been enough of those.

Despite all his mishaps I would have to add Robbo cos I just don't see cerny as good enough. I am sure his win- lose ratio is far lower than Robbo's. Anyone know if Alnwick's any good ?

Keane (after Ledley)

Defoe is not a competent replacement in the current climate, imo. Most players are not playing well & defoe often reqires spoon-feeding goals. Keane makes things happen.

Then Lee.

King, by a mile, his absence is simply killing us.

Once more today we face the prospect of defeat because we can't put out a decent CB partnership - our best hope is probably playing a RB there - ridiculous

Our defence gets better when king is in the side. and he gives us better leadership skills. makes dawson or gardner along side him have much better games.

After that keane, cos he is scoring lots this season, and also working hard doing other stuff as well.

Then after that lee or Bale, due to the lack of other options we then have on the left, as well as them both being good players so far this season. Unlike most of team who are playing well below average.

Yeah, like his golas this season. Defoe can make things happen in his own way, but not in the way Keane or Berbatov make things happen.

I dont think we would miss it too much if ether Keane or Defoe were out as we have good replacemnet to come in.

At this moment we would miss Keane on his good run, but also anyone at the back as we have no other cover.

If everyone was fit though
King, always miss a player of his quality
Bale, brings us so much down that left

Robinson - class goalie, needs to get form back behind an actual decent defence

King - one of the best centre backs around when fit, will be interesting to see if better resuming partnership with Dawson or how Kaboul players alongside him (I'm in favour of the Dawson option)

Lee - underatted by some, class defensive abilities

Bale - provides good left sided balance in front of Lee and provides us with actual quality set-play delivery which we haven't had for years (even Carrick's corners were crap and I never knew why he always took them?)

Jenas - provides lots of unsung running and energy in middle of the park. Also better than Huddlestone or Zokora.

Keano - class, scores goals, provides them and his movement is excellent

Berbatov - class when he gets back on form

Or to turn the question on its head, who could we most afford to be injured?
