Who do we want in the last 8 of the Champions League?

As we can't play Barcelona or any English teams in the last 16, our opponents will be one of the other group stage winners from:

Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Porto, Real Madrid, Juve and (Bayern or Ajax) .

I hope we avoid Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG.

The rest don't worry me too much.

Would much rather play PSG than Dortmund. Former are perennial Champions League chokers. The latter are absolutely flying and battered Europe's best defense Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the group stages.

Porto but that will never happen so I’m hoping for PSG
I hate them and I’m confident we can beat them

The only team I don’t want is Juventus

True, but what's the point in being in the competition if we don't want to play against the teams in it..

We've already done that in the group stage though.

It's not about not wanting to play against the best teams, it's about giving ourselves the best chance of progressing to the next round. It's all about gaining momentum just like Liverpool done last year and look what happened to them

- Don't want Dortmund. We played them last year so it wouldn't be exciting and they're on fire.
- Don't want Juve cos they're bastards.
- Don't want PSG cos they lack history and they'd probably beat us.
- I reckon we could beat Madrid but again, we played them last year so would prefer someone else.
- Would be happy with Porto...
- But would love Bayern. Proper glamour tie vs a bonafide European giant with an ageing team. I think we'd have a solid chance and would be memorable whatever the result.

Yeah to be fair, I can't disagree with you on that.

PSG - granted Hugo would have to be mustard to keep out Kylian et al but it would be a brilliant tie and of course there is the Poch history component.

Well, well, well. Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus.

Who would you pick out of that lot? Porto sounds easiest but could be a banana skin. I don't fancy Borussia, Juve and PSG who are in the form of their lives.

I think Bayern and Real could both be easy prey plus it will be a mega match at the new gaff with European royalty. Easy then, eh lads! Bring it on (y)

I find it funny how some want to avoid Juventus at all cost (petrified) then others want Real Madrid serial CL winners like they're an easy touch ( beatable) .... It's laughable.

Not meaning to sound cocky but I couldn't care less who we draw because whats left are the strongest teams across Europe and we just need to concentrate on ourselves, though I get all the permutations going through people's heads. The problem is we could potentially screw up thinking x teams easier, whoever we're drawn against I just want us to be efficient / effective / clever / fully fit squad on our A game. In honour of our motto Dare is to Do win the CL.

Juve have looked very good this season and with the added firepower of CR7 (one of the main reasons RM have been serial CL winners of late) it’s understandable to want to avoid them.

If you have seen any RM games this season you can see the spark has gone. They can’t defend to save their life’s. They’ve lost 3-0 to Sevilla & Eibar, 5-1 to Barca and twice to CSKA Moscow. Bale is struggling for form, Benzema is somehow getting even worse and the new additions haven’t impressed.

The only worry is they will look to invest in January to turn their season around... But looking at the teams now, I’d much rather play RM.

I fancy Bayern. I can't remember if we have ever met them competitively?

As a Juve fan I don't want them. Don't want to have to avoid SC for a few weeks either.

I doubt we'll get Porto. It's the easiest draw so will likely go to Liverpool or United. I want a team we haven't had before, so i guess Bayern or PSG. I'd fancy our chances too.

Of course we want to face the easiest opponents to move on in this competition, and for those strange people who always want tough opponents, I can tell you that they're coming rather sooner than later. Question is do we face them now or maybe in final.
Btw, when is the draw?
Edit. It's17.12
