Booked our flights 2 hours ago, now potential drama occurs as one of the sites the lads used has text him saying they can't fulfill the order. Big order still classed as pending so fingers crossed.

Fat chance.

The chances have to be pretty damn high, we've already earned around 30 mln Euro for the participation in the Champions League. Adding it up to the untouched 150 mln warchest from the summer, we have a lot of money for quality players.

Always book directly with the airline if you can.

This is a great point, and one shown by what Juventus did to us last season.

Yep. I think its more important to avoid the big powerhouse experienced in the competition teams in the knockout rounds. There's a reason its always the same teams who get to the semis. Experience means so much at this level.

Or paying off the stadium loan. I know which I'd prefer but what will ENIC?

3 games in 7 days end of February into March. Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Dortmund (A).

Seems over the last couple years that every time we get one of these "killer" runs of matches we have done well. Not expecting anything different this time. D-W-D. Advancing to the next round.

Dortmund scares the sh*t out of me to be honest. But as stated numerous times in this thread, there are no 'easy' draws when you enter the knock out stage in the CL. Holding my thumbs we'll play in the new stadium.

We're turbofucked. Would rather have got anyone else.

I’m sure they are saying the same.

It’s a proper 50/50 tie which you’d take in the last 16 especially when you’ve come 2nd in the group.

For me, after Porto, Dortmund were the team to get. I don’t care that they’re top of the German league. It will still be tough like they all would be, but we have a fantastic chance to get to the Quarter finals. Didn’t want Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG or even Bayern at this stage.

After watching that Bayern v Ajax game and hearing they are 3rd in their league I must admit I wouldn’t have minded Munich but there ain’t much in it. Agree that it’s good we avoided PSG and Juve. Would’ve taken Madrid, though.

have to agree with this. street smarts go a long way at this stage of the competition and it's typically the masters of shithousing (real/barca/bayern) or the plain jammy fucks (scousers) who progress deep into it. think it'll be nip and tuck and probably only 1 goal in it either way plus with it not being one of the recognised elite clubs we may get a decent ref for once.

BVB are a much better team this year. Top of the league and destroying teams. Favre is an exceptional manager. I think they are one of the hardest teams this year. I am very doubtful we will get anything from this.

Whilst they look different and better this season, remember they were also top of the league unbeaten (with the best defensive record across Europe) when we faced them before completely collapsing thereafter. I also watched their home game against Atletico, obviously credit to them for being clinical but that 4-1 flattered them as Atletico were on top for considerable portions of that game. In the return leg Atletico (who aren't at the peak of their game anymore) dispatched them with relative ease.

They are an energetic and talented team brimming with confidence but much can change in two months and their winter break might not be the most welcome thing happening to them at this point. Certainly much respect to them as offensively they can be pretty devastating but we are a quality side ourselves, that have faced more adversity (tougher group, tougher league, plenty of injuries, neutral ground) and yet with still more room for improvement.

No fear, only optimism that we can progress from this tie

Although they are still winning they aren’t playing as well as they were early in the season. They were blowing teams away but now winning by odd goal. I think the tie on the whole will be you have a shot we have a shot. Could see some crazy aggregate score like 7-4 to us. Also remember last season I think they’d won their first 6 and had best form in Europe till they played us and then their season fell apart ?
