Remember when we bought Lennon and the Scum bought Jersey Joe Walcott how we laughed at who had the better deal and better value, and at that time we were right.Lennon was streets ahead of Walcott.
After recent games however are we so sure? Walcott has come on leaps and bounds and poor old AL who is continually played out of position ,when he plays, seems to have stagnated.
Why is this?
Could it be that the Scum have better coaches and training systems then us ? the answer must be yes whose fault is this . Our head coach has had nearly 3 years here and i cant think of one player who has improved under his tutelage. If I'm wrong please enlighten me.This one cant be blamed on the board , it only shows another failing that must be parked at the door of Good Old Uncle Martin.
Don't even try to fob this off by blaming the other coaches we have if they are not good enough Jol should have had them out by now.No this is down to one person and one person only Martin Jol.

Sorry what was the question?

Who has improved most since purchase? Lennon has. Walcott had a big reputation and was highly sought after. He is still becoming a good player. Lennon had a decent reputaion but wasn't making headlines like walcott. So it is obviousl Lennon has improved more.

BTW Arsenal obviously have better coaches than us.

Lennon is only one of a whole host of talented players we have who is going backwards.

I totally blame the board for this and in particular Paul kemsley.

And during the three years of Jols reign he has done nothing to bridge that gap, obviously the boards fault!

We have Bought in Moniz (who by all accounts is very good - according to Defoe) and Clive Allen has done well with the ressies.

But I would really have to question if the team needs better coaching, or better motivation?? They just don't seem to give 100% so it is hard to see how good they really are.

The head coach is in charge of both coaching and motivating so either way it must be his fault ,mustnt it? NO can't be Uncle Martins fault must be the boards fault.

Lennon's progress has also been seriously hampered by injury since the beginning of last season.

And asking whether Arsenal have better training systems in place than us is, frankly, idiotic. Of course they do. Wenger is not only an exceptional coach, he's had a decade of more or less unbroken success in which to set up and develop those systems, top class players to act as role models, and all the rest of it, including a comparative lack of pressure.

The top 4 jobs carry the most pressure.

Wow, you really have it in for the board:wink:.

As crazy as it sounds, the board have actually influenced the motivation of the players, and the coaching overall. By undermining Jol, at some level the players think "The board don't rate him, he will be gone soon, so what he says means shit in the grand scheme of things". Even if the players don't know they think that, they do. Off the field problems cause on the field problems, and there are countless examples of this.

You blind hatred for Jol seems to have made you lose perspective. Imagine it was a team you don't care about. Let's say boro. They come fifth 2 years in a row, the team is improving and the board undermine the manager. - you would think they are fucking mental wouldn't you?

Funny how all the speculation that was surrounding Wenger leaving Arsenal prior to him signing a new deal never affected their start to the season at all. If anything it seemed to galvanise them.

Funnier how Wenger wasn't undermined by the club. Funny how Arsenals board know they have a good manager so they didn't approach a different one. Funny how that was more about "does Wenger want to stay" rather than "Do we think we can get a better manager?"

Fucking hilarious I would say.

Its still supposed instability.

Anyway that wasn't really my point, my point was players are players and when it comes down to it they play football, the boardroom goings on actually have far less impact on the pitch that what people are making out.

The players are highly payed professionals and as much as anything they are playing for themselves, the players in the team will always want the manager to stay and the ones out of it would usually be happy with a change. This goes on the whole time and extra boardroom squabbling makes little difference to them on a day to day basis.

It is however a very convenient excuse if and when required, which was really my point.

Maybe years ago the players were professional who just want to play football. Now, sadly you are wrong. They are Playboys, celebrities and party goers. Us and Chelsea are still very much the glamour clubs for these "players". We are a soft touch for those who want to get paid a footballers wage while living the high life in London. Fergie wouldn't stand for THUDD and Lennon being out on the piss, Wenger wouldn't either. We need to shape up.
