Rogers is flavour of the month. A while ago some were just as keen on Coyle, and now look at him.

someone like marcelo bielsa would make a excellent manager

If Harry jumps now (I don't think he will) then it can only be Hiddink. No one else has the pedigree to hop in this late in the season and keep things ticking over. Danny knows this and the FA have got no hope of making it happen

In the summer, you'd have to be thinking someone with experience in the PL and European competition. Mourinho stands out and if rumours are to be believed then he may well be out of favour in Mdarid. Personally I'd have hoped Ancelotti had held his nerve a little longer and waited for this very opportunity... but alas. Lambert and Rodgers are definately of interest but this role is 1 or 2 years too early for them, same for Hughton and Poyet. For me (but you could never get him) Joachim Low would be perfect, right age, right style, well respected and great at dealing with youth players

Which ever way the cookie crumbles we're an attractive proposition, we'll be absolutely flooded with quality resumes

An absolutely pivotal decision, we must get the right man to take us forwards. A proven winner, not a flavour of the month. Hiddink would be my number 1 choice, wouldn't be averse to Rijkaard either as I think we have the players to thrive in his system and philosophy. Mourinho has the pedigree no question, but I am not a fan of the football his teams play, or him in general

Neil Warnock and Ray Wilkins

At least they'll attract more gay supporters.

So.. not exactly pinning many hopes on Harry turning down the FA then.

It's always a little frightening to be searching for a manager when Steve Bruce is out of work. If nothing else, whoever we hire we can breathe a relief it's not Widow Twanky.

Given where we now are it has to be the finished article which means Mourinho, Hiddink or Capello (well...?). I'd hope additionally, we are talking to the likes of Lambert and Rodgers for the future and even guys like Eddie Howe and Nicky Barmby, who are very exciting and at the start of what should be excellent careers in management.

Suspect we'll muddle through till Summer then announce someone in May to give them time to do deals and start pre-season.

Hopefully FA would've been scared off by now from the tax case, but I suspect they haven't and while remaining hopeful there's no denying the money's on Harry taking the job if offered, especially now that he can start with a championship so he'll have at least two shots. Needless to leave in the middle of the season though but they'll probably have to at least announce something soon.

IF he goes I'd certainly think Hiddink would be an excellent appointment. While I understand the flavor of the month arguments I've been mightily impressed by Swansea and have a soft spot for Rodgers. i would be a gamble, but one I think would be successful. The problem is, though, that we'd also need to demonstrate ambition to Bale, Modric etc. and they might be underwhelmed by the prospect of him.

Not being English I'd love to see Wenger get the post just for the reactions, a typical FA appointment though would be Alan Pardew; he's old, he's mostly underachieved and but he's doing excellent at the moment.

Ah, well, he's off I guess?

We need the man whose coat is from Matalan! I really believe we could get him in the summer if we qualifiy for next seasons Champions League.

id let him go for the following managers, Mourinho, Klinsmann, Jürgen Klopp, Marcelo Bielsa, Moyes, and Rodgers in that order.
Harry gave the player the belief that was missing under Ramos.

As attractive as Rogers and Lambert seem at the moment, I would be very hesitant to bring either in. In the same way in which we usually wait to see how young or foreign talent do in the Premier League, I think we'd have to see how these young coaches do at a slightly bigger club or after a few more years in the top flight.

I'd be much more comfortable with Hiddink or even Mourinho, even though they may only be short-term due to their wander-lust. In that time we'll have time to properly assess the progress of either or both of Lambert and Rogers.

And to those who want Klinsmann, what has he ever done on club level (or country, for that matter) to suggest he'd be good here?

Arry isn't the only manager who players seem to like playing for.

I trust Levy enough to make the right call.

I think we will be managed by Moyes next season.

Klopp has signed a new deal at Dortmund and Klinsmann isn't a worthy candidate.

Not sure on Moyes. Suppose he's a bit Martin O'Neill isnt he. Great record at smaller clubs, never really been given a shot at the big time. Him leaving Everton would maybe have an Alan Curbishly style effect when he left Charlton. He is a good manager, but would he have the pull for the big players we lack? Would his vision for the club be enough to convince Modric, Bale etc to hang about? I'm not so sure.

Mourinho has to be the number 1 candidate. And I believe he'd be very interested. We'd give him a good salary, he'd inherit a good squad, with money to spend, with 2 £50m assets he could cash in on and use the money to reshape the squad as he see's fit. Its not Liverpool or City, so doesnt rule him out of taking the Man U job in future. Its a genuine challenge, with all the right things in place to create history. If Mourinho is coming back to England we must be one of 2 or 3 clubs that can get him.

One stumbling block, and a massive one for me, is if Mourinho would work with Levy and Levy could work with Mourinho. That would be a strained relationship from day one. Every transfer window would be cringe worthy, with Mourinho making claims for the players he would like. And Levy not delivering.

With this current squad and if we finish top 3 then we need an experienced manager who understands the PL as well as CL.
Some names mentioned ie: Rodgers...don't have CL experience yet.

However the big names manager would want us to break our wage structure - Would Levy be willing to do that. We have a BIG stadium project and so we need to carefully plan ahead.

If we don't pull a big name manager then some of our big name players might move on ie: Modric.

Just as one name stands for the England Manager - REDKNAPP
One name stands for the SPURS MANAGER - Mourinho
Arry will accept England
Will Jose accept Spurs???

ValenciaYid said a while ago that Mourinho has a very good relationship with Levy and has been close to taking us over a couple of times before. I can't really comprehend Spurs without Harry at the moment, but if it was to happen I think Mourinho is the only manager that would immediately re-assure me.
