So the transfer window is over. I always think the relegation race is the most exciting as there is so much more at stake and genuine changes occur as a result. Some large clubs have been relegated never to return.

The current bottom 8 in the table having played 23 games:

Chelsea 28 points
West Brom 28 points
Swansea 25 points
Bournemouth 25 points
Norwich 23 points
Newcastle 21 points
Sunderland 19 points
Aston Villa 13 points

Have to believe Chelsea and West Brom will be OK.

Swansea have brought in Paloschi from Chievo and Ryan Blair from Falkirk with Leroy Fer joining on loan. They lost Shelvey. I don't know about Paloschi and Blair and doubt Fer will be much better than Shelvey. They should just about have enough to stay up.

Bournemouth were big spenders bringing in Afobe, Grabban and Iturbe to improve their attacking options with Wilson being injured. They're definitely in for the dog fight and have made some bold moves.

Norwich improved their attacking options with Naismith and Bamford and added Pinto and Klose to the defence. Interested to see how Spurs target James Maddison does on loan. I think they have improved and Naismith will be a big signing for them.

Newcastle were the other big spenders bringing in Saivet, Shelvey, Townsend and Doumbia. Could just be enough to pull them out of the bottom 3.

I really thought Allardyce would bring in some solid, Prem ready defensive reinforcements. Instead he has gone abroad to bring in Kirchoff, Kone, Khazri and Harper. I'm trying to get my head round to accepting an Allardyce team will get relegated. I can't see them surviving.

Villa didn't bring in anyone and trimmed the wage bill. They're surely preparing for the Championship.

So for me Villa, Sunderland and one of Bournemouth and Norwich go down. Newcastle are the other possibility. I'll go with Bournemouth as the 3rd side

Think Newcastle may have signed some real duds in a desperate attempt to stay up, but Norwich have also signed a whole new team which could backfire.

I think it will depend on which of those teams manages to get their signings to settle quickest. I still think Newcastle will go down just because ultimately their manager is useless.

I'd love Sunderland and Newcastle to go. Sunderland especially who have been on the brink for a few years now.

Villa may as well start planning for it as they are gone already.

Interesting. My flat mate is a Norwich fan so see a fair amount of them. I think they are an OK team but their strikers have been very poor. Naismith could make a huge difference.

You've missed us as an option. I was reading the ITK thread last night and in doing so it's become clear that since we haven't bought a striker we're in serious relegation danger .... I'd add that as an option.

As long as Bournemouth stay up I really couldn't give a fuck who goes down.

I've voted for Norwich, to go down along with Sunderland and Villa.

I hope it's Villa, Sunderland and West Brom. Want Norwich, Bournemouth and Swansea to all stay up and I think Newcastle will drag themselves out regardless.

But I fear Swansea will go if Norwich and Bournemouth's January signings click and Naismith and Afobe give them the firepower they need.

Unlikely but if Chelsea get relegated, it will be the best Premier League season in history.

I'd like it to be Chelsea Liverpool and arsenal but in answer to the question, I'd go with Villa, Sunderland and Norwich

I remember when they went down losing that playoffs against Boro in 1988 back when they were shit(ter)

That was a good day.

I think Norwich and Villa and then its a toss up between Sunderland and Newcastle. As much as I'd love it to be Newcastle (poor Andros :() I think their signings will help them edge past Sunderland.

Villa certain

Other 2 places really could be anyone, went for Swansea - strange selling Shelvey to a rival and strange managerial appointment, and WBA to piss Jonathan Pease off
