Why did the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium roof pulse during Storm Eunice?

Winds from Storms Eunice and Franklin have taken their toll on infrastructure around the UK in the last week, but modern construction projects showed the value of clever engineering – with Tottenham Hotspur’s relatively-new £1bn stadium proving why it's widely regarded as the cream of the crop.

"but modern construction projects showed the value of clever engineering..."

The O2 arena is pretty modern, with a cable roof design, opening in 2007, and was ripped to shreds.

I'd like to think if a few panels had blown away on our stadium, the main structure would have stayed intact and the roof could be quickly patched with tarps to the premiership's satisfaction, until new panels were installed.

It is predicted that large storms will be a regular occurrence for the foreseeable future so this roof is going to be frequently put to the test.

Probably for the same reason a plane's wings move up and down. If they didn't, they would snap!
