I wouldn't usually want to be this petty but her comments probably made me more angry than the actual result that night.

@Bobbins secret real life identity confirmed! :playful:

Forget the result that night. Forget her "Spurs bottled it" comment which she was clearly instructed to say. The biggest issue is that there are so many women who know a LOT about football. Why the fuck did Sky ever feel it necessary to shoehorn her in there?!

It's something I'll never understand.

Eyecandy like the female presenters on Sky Sports News.

Sadly a nice pair of legs and big breasts is valued more highly than a knowledge when it comes to female football presenters. Hiring her was a massive insult to many credible, knowledgable, erudite female football presenters.

That said, Graham Roberts is a twat and a fraud. In the Bobby Moore lounge after the league cup loss v West Ham he was there alongside Tony Gale and Tony Cottee. Cottee had his head down having a drink and behaving, enjoying the hospitality, but Gale was giving it the big one and being more than a little unmagnanimous. Roberts nose was so far up Gale’s arse it’s untrue, if he was anything like his twitter persona he’d have been putting the **** in his place. Instead he was more interested in brown nosing Gale, probably hoping he’d get a gig on Sky or something.

Not sure an ex pro invited by the club to games could be 'aving it' with anyone after the game at the ground and maintain a professional relationship with them

Or maybe Sky didn't renew her contract as she was out of her depth as a Football presenter.

Any links to anything saying she was sacked or that Sky got rid of her? Everything I've seen has said she resigned.

Not sure if it applies to all clubs, I don't see much Sky coverage anymore, but the worst bit of their coverage of Spurs games has been when they discuss Spurs and have Jamie Redknapp representing the THFC position. Just because he played a handful of games for the club doesn't mean he's the right person to speak about it.

In a studio with Thierry Henry and whoever else, there can be some decent discussion but it descends into perception based on the past or perpetuating media links with very little insight. Maybe there just aren't any pro-Spurs pundits on their channel, or even in general. They have Hoddle sometimes but he comes across as a fan trying to be objective and is overly harsh as a result.

The 'Pundits' thread on here was talking about the debate show with Dennis Wise and Ian Wright. Which of those is meant to be the Spurs side? It's not Wise, as they were talking about Chelsea, and it sure isn't ex-Arsenal player Ian Wright (though to his credit he is often quite balanced). Jenas doesn't work for Sky as far as I know, so we're stuck with it.

TSN in Canada had Steve Nicol and Shaka Hislop at the weekend; fairly neutral. SBS in Australia has Craig Foster and Michael Bridges for most games with someone else guest starring and Bridges is pro-Spurs. Foster is pretty neutral but the show still goes the way of reporting 'links' as if they are true. Other channels have people like Curbishley, Andy Townsend and Tim Sherwood; two of them are out of touch and Sherwood can talk a good game before making sure he gets his self-promotion in.

She's one of the best known female presenters on TV, she's well known for being intelligent and having a love of football, I don't really see the issue in thinking she might be quite good as a football presenter. Its less of a leap than thinking ex players might make good pundits.

At least ex players have had a professional involvement in the game. Most will have inside knowledge of what is it like to have been in a relegation battle, title pursuit or good cup campaign. There are so many decent women professional footballers that could get involved instead of the cliche types. To be fair most of the male presenters are morons as well that read off an auto cue and generally add no insite at all.

Also what is sky's obsession with saying "keep you across all the games" Surely it would be keep you updated across all of the games. That drives me mad!

But those woman professional footballers aren't presenters. If she was being ask to be a pundit who needed to give an expert opinion then I would understand the argument, but she was just asking the questions - many of which are probably fed to her by the producer. Most of the male presenters aren't ex-footballers either.

Quite a few are more than capable of presenting these shows. Look at Gary Lineker on MOTD. By the way I was referring in large about your comment "Its less of a leap than thinking ex players might make good pundits. "

I'm sure they would be, but even Lineker took a while to adjust to the job. I'm sure Riley would have been OK if she'd had time to grow into the role.
