Why Kaboul?

Why did Ramos take off Kaboul? was he injured or something, i have understood Ramos' decisions in the past for taking off Kabby but the Brum game, WHY?

He wasn't at fault for the penalty, even Andy Gray said so on Sky so why make such a drastic change at half-time to distabalise the defence in such a way, we had to re-shuffle the defence and midfield who were dominating the brummies in the 1st half with Zoko, Malbranque et al.

I feel this was a bad decision from JR, thoughts?

Ramos first game was against Blackbool .. i've been heard it wasn't good performance by Kaboul .. since that day, Kaboul is poor and without confidence

ok, may be Kaboul can defend it better and avoid this penalty, but it wasn't penalty at all. Ramos should back his player and attack the referee instead of treating his young player like this.

Because after the penalty Kaboul had lost all confidence again.

I agree, it might have been better in hindsight if he'd stayed on. Kaboul though, in fairness, looked uneasy on the ball all of the half. His communication with Robinson was awful at times, but he seems to suffer from that most games.

Nah dont agree.. more like why Bent? Well i question why he picked him in the first place instead of just bringing in the Hudd for JJ.

But then at half time he takes him off.. he was the one that came closest to score, and also linked up well with Keano, and won alot of flick ons. Probably more than Berbs has in his whole of spurs career.

Kaboul might not of been at fault for the pen but he was shaky throughout and gave the ball away far too many times, especially those shitty long balls. Thought Zoko has done a real good job filling in at CB over the last 3 games. Been much better than both Kaboul and Dawson.

I agreeand in my match ratings thread sai the following:

I also thought the taking off of Kaboul was a complete waste of a substitution and a very counterproductive thing to do. It was a very harsh penalty and apart from that Birmingham were offering very little threat and the last thing his confidence needed was to be subbed again unecessarily in such a one sided game.

Kaboul 5 - I'm really not sure he's ever going to be good enough defesively but playing next to Dawson is never going to improve him.

Bent had picked up an injury.

First;y, in answer to the above poster, Bent, apprently, had a thigh strain so was taken off in precaution.

As for the defence, Birmingham were playing five ac ross midfield and one up front.

Kaboul was technically the one who was surplus if we were going to bring in another midfielder. Then Zokora slipped deeper to assist while the Hudd sprayed the ball about.

It made sense - what would make more sense of it all would be one of our first choice central defenders coming back and allowing Kaboul to find his way in to the Premiership with less of a deep end dive in to it.

Fair enough. Didnt know because i was at the game.

Kaboul proberly should of stayed on.. but then again it nearly worked as we went 2-1 pretty quickly again, Berbs hit the post, if that went in it would of been 3-1 and game over and we would all be praising Ramos again.

Kaboul has had a hard time, and his confidence is probably not at the best. I think it is psycological factors involved in the decision by JR to take off Kaboul. He is a great talent, but needs a rest and get the confidence back. He will bounce back, and I have no doubt about his ability.

Basically beacuse he's shit and shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. Unfortunately injuries mean he has to play. I remember the last time we spent £8M on a centre half. Well done DC !

Goldman i watched it on sky and it seemed to me that every time Kaboul got hold of the ball the crowd got on his back which made him nervous was it like the at the ground

just after the ref gave the pen against him

Yea i know.. i didnt blame him for the pen if you read my earlier post in this thread.

But he has done nothing all season to show me he is a good CB or potential to be one.

Just wondering why SK would defend him, sure only DC would because he spunked 8 million on a very average player.
