Mousa Dembele wants to leave Tottenham because he can’t cope with the intensity of the Premier League, according to Belgian expert Kristof Terreur.

Thats a real shame. I wish the gaffer had got hold of him at the time AVB was there because he'd have been one of those who would have become a real world-beater. An absolute beast in terms of his physique, but has the finesse & clarity of technique to glide past players.

I keep thinking surely, Eriksen can slot into the double-pivot role, alongside Dier, whereby he can boss the game from a deeper position; somewhat like De Bruyne. Effectively, with the return of Winks, we'd have both he & Eriksen to be the playmaker from deep, with Wanyama & Dier as the holding-midfielders.

There money we would have, we would look to purchase 1 or 2 top-class pacey wide-forwards, i.e. Gareth Bale & Malcolm.

Hopefully, with Joe Lewis sailing in like Sinbad on his battleship it will mean the hallowed chequebook will be opened.

This Belgian expert doesn't really tell me anything I don't know. Some people in this forum have been saying it for months.

Can’t help but feel he won’t get the love elsewhere that he gets at spurs.

Amazes me that Belgium have him behind Witsel & Fellani at the World Cup

So all of the other sources that say it's an amicable split because of his age and the fact we won't offer him a longer contract, this one random bloke with no direct links to Dembele, access to his training or medical records, etc. has decided it's because the premier league is too tough for him?

8 Years in British football and he's only just decided he can't hack the pace. Yeah, alright.

Everyone's an expert.

Too be fair i've read interviews with him in the past where it says the same thing himself. So i think it is true.

Did you think that before he said it though? I know this is classed as news and probably on news now but I am unclear why this is news.
There are no quotes or sources, the writers might as well have built a story on members who were saying this on spurs chat.

Belgian expert Kristof Terreur is close to the players based in England, he speaks with them as part of his job.

Ok well he should be able to provide quotes or sources, otherwise it's just his opinion or ITK.

I’ve seen very little from witsel in the half dozen tournaments games I’ve seen him in. I’m amazed Dembele can get a game in front of him

If there's any truth at all in this I'm not particularly surprised since he has 3 players bouncing off him every time he has the ball.

He’s giving an interview, he’s unlikely to quote Dembele directly in an interview but is relaying what he knows of the situation.

I believe it. He's talked about his body breaking down in the past. I wish him the best.

Or we could just bring Modric back. ?

A great player. That's a big statement but truly deserved. I fear he will go, we'll be unable to replace with the same quality. Just hope we can get a good fee and genuinely no hope he gets a massive contract somewhere which sets him up for life.
