Whoever said it was an either or situation of cl or the fa cup.

Winning the cup and getting in the cl will be far better than just getting cl. If we don't win anything then the players might look at walker at city lifting trophies and think am i ever going to win anything at spurs?

Not saying players will leave but i'd bet they'd be a lot happier with a bit of silverware.

It’s pretty much implied when talking about priorities.

We are changing into a "Superclub" in front of our eyes..It is going to take a bit more time (not a huge amount)
The "worry" that are going to lose all our best players is IMHO not anything as likely as people think
The link below explains why
I just found a recent discussion of (Balague and Bellamy talking about Poch), and his ethos and why he isn't going anywhere soon (i missed it first time)
Levy leads from the front off the Pitch and Poch does on it
Guys we are in for a fantastic ride, the philosphy of excellence runs all the way through this club now
Check this out for me explains everything ...Trophies are coming, IMHO it is a matter of time

Come to think about it: we have probably had a «super-run» once or twice every year the last 3-4 seasons? Thats something, and we are probably just inches away from something really big..,

Or we crash, and start collecting 10th places again(n)

And your first thought after a crushing defeat like that is to try and prove a point people made over a month ago... you been planning this one?
No, I was hoping we'd win and be in with a shout of our first trophy in 10 years. It really matters to me that we win them, at least once in a while.

trophies matter when you KNOW your team is of HIGH quality, but there mentality is what keeps costing them, so frustrating

As someone who likes 76ers this article really pisses me off as it misrepresents the whole message

This article has just been written on the fucking slogan rather than been well researched

We dont believe we are a big club or worthy of fighting for these honours look at Liverpool, they are doing well just because they think they are a big club imo

It does!!!
Especially if some of our bigger players are looking for - to use a quote - "assurances" before they'd be happy to sign a new contract with us, right?

I imagine it wouldn't be crazy talk to assume that the assurances those players are looking for at least skate around the subject of THFC being in a position to win the very trophies that a number of people in this thread don't think matter too much?

Cant wait to see that plastered over the new stadium

“Trophies don’t matter”
“The game is about finishing top four”

Haha, why would you bring this thread back - it was already one of the worst I've ever seen on SC with possibly the most ridiculous and insane title of all time

We have become Arsenal under Wenger in the “dark” years, without the trophies of course.

I’d swap all we’ve done on the field in the last three seasons for them two FA Cups they’ve won it the same timeframe. Newcastle, Leeds, now enter Tottenham. We are in that club.

Entertaining nearly men who bottle the big games.

Top 4 was always the priority. We have to pick ourselves up to ensure we do that in the next 4 games. But missing out on a trophy again means we have failed to progress.

This has to be the best team to never win anything. Only one more season to continue our record of winning a trophy in every decade. There's no question that it matters. Just as CL qualification also matters.

A decade and counting. Good thing trophies don't matter any more though, isn't it? :banghead:

Agree. The only people who say that are those who don't win, to make themselves feel better about themselves... us.

We are on the up no doubt, but to say trophies don't matter anymore is pure nonsense, otherwise this thread would've finished on the very first page.

We’ve finished 10th or below twice in the last 15 years.
