Is it?? I'm pretty underwhelmed by this. I hope it's a ploy to get the N'Koudou deal over the line.

Surely there's better options available for us. We've got Champions League footy for God's sake!

I cant work out whether i think this is a good idea or not.

On one hand he has good pace, skill and athleticism.

On the otherhand, he has never remotely looked like living up to potential.

Genuinely dont know.

I think Poch, Levy and the Recruitment team will not alter their current market strategy no matter what competitions we are involved in. Get in decent players on the cheap, maintain steady league position (Last season was manna from the Gods) and then look to really threaten the status quo once we've completed the stadium. We should not expect much from the transfer market until then.

I think it's fair to say Poch will not be around that long should this be the plan.

I don't agree. I don't think its fair game to 2nd guess whether he prefers to develop this squad or go to an open cheque book club. I don't know what he prefers but he seems to like what he is doing at WHL. I think it would be as fool hardy for me to say he wouldn't go elsewhere as it is for anyone to say with certainty he thinks as short term as you indicate.

Not sure how Zaha is an upgrade on Chadli, N'jie or even Townsend tbh. Like him, just can't see him bossing games and chasing back like Lamela.. but then again, I couldn't see Lamela chasing back and bossing games like Lamela only a year or so ago!

I think Poch is a manager who could help Zaha to finally meet his potential.
Lets face it what chance did he have under Moyes at Man Utd, he has done better under Pardew at Palace but at a bigger club under a manager like Poch he could actually become the player he looked like he could be before Man Utd bought him.

Palace's chairman, Steve Parish, is a hard guy to deal with. Even if this rumour is true and you think Zaha is a good signing, don't count their chicken before they are hatched.

Like Townsend, he can flatter to deceive. But if he is any better, the price will be much more than £15M. Remember Prichard, who hardly has any PL experience, went to a Championship team for £8M.

I've seen Zaha play numerous times and I've always thought he is highly talented, but lacks focus. He has pace and skill and can score goals.

If Pochettino thinks he can get Zaha playing up to his potential, the results could be exciting. Rigorous training and focus could be exactly what he needs.

I am no coach, but this approach is totally out of left-field for me. I have never seen him play a good ninety minutes, but that said i could have said the same about Rose and Walker three seasons ago?

I would however think that Poch and his team have seen something in this player me and hundreds more do not.

in Poch i trust!

I am not impressed with selling Townsend and buying Zaha for 15 million. Townsend had his heart in the club, I would rather we developed.
We sold Pritchard , we are reportedly selling N'jie and Son after only one season and apparently Mason a Nd Chadil are up for sale as well, these are all guys with potential. I don't see the point in selling them and replacing them with players who aren't better.

After seeing what Townsend had left in his locker i am mightly impressed what we screwed Newcastle for him.

And don't even get me started om the Lamela nutmeg.

Zahar is quicker, stronger, and has more skill.

I didn't see anything from Zaha that Townsend couldn't do. There is also little point in getting him if we are just going to sell him after one year because he hasn't had the greatest season.
