We need attacking options and Zaha is another player I would take in a heartbeat..

Completely agree. He is everything we are looking for in an AM, the one real thing we don't have, bar GKN. With Poch's man management and our team compared to Palace i think he could be devastating. Just because he didn't make it at United people have little respect for him, like Veron, Depay, Schniederlin etc are all rubbish. Sometimes it just doesn't work. But for me, this guy is exactly what we are crying out for, yet people are like. Nah, he's average, he's ok blah blah. In this market i'd pay 25m for him if that gets him and wouldn't look back.

This is a genuine request and shouldn't come off snidely, but convince me he is the player we need for 25m. I am firmly in the don't buy category, but am willing to be nudged if I can understand the argument for another winger at the price of 25m, in the January window none the less, when we all ready have an abundance of AMs.

I saw some reports suggesting Poch spoke to him in the summer. So how often do managers if clubs speak to players at other clubs?

I don't like that happening personally. It's not really on.

Lol Palace's chairman already said they wouldn't sell him for £50m - especially to us!

If you think Levy will even contemplate throwing money at clubs for the kind overinflated figures quoted in January then you are deluded

For me, he's a 8-10m player in a normal market. In this market that does make his value 25m+ but not his ability. I don't really rate him, certainly not for a top 4 (-chasing) club.

If there is something there to work with, fine, but the price for a work in progress seems off.. Palace may consider him a finished article, for them, but Spurs shouldn't. I didn't want him in the summer and still don't.

As for alternatives, err.. I see him and Depay as similar. If there are questions of Zaha's ability from me, and presumably you, then there should be questions over Depay's attitude. His form pre-Man Utd was great, earning the move, and I don't think Zaha has ever been that good. That said, if there is a better alternative to both, I would be more in favour of that player instead.

Was Parish there for Bostock? Or was that the previous perma-tanned wide boy chairman?

I totally agree the one thing missing from out team is skill and trickery to beat a man and commit defenders. We are a really good side until we get to the final third but we lack that bit of flair to do something unexpected. Personally I would sell Carroll and put a decent bid in for Zaha

They only do it with permission from the club I believe. Don't think untoward occurred here.

Not really worth going through the whole financial negotiation just for the player to decide he doesn't want to leave once he has spoken to the manager.

Oh yeah forgot about him lol.

It was something Jordon wasn't it, although can't remember if Jordon or Parish were there when we got Bostock.

Simon Jordan wasn't it , think he was majorly pissed when we took Routledge and then even more so with Bostock.

Ah yes the Routledge saga!

Finally got him, he had a cracking pre-season with us and then got injured after the first game I think? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Then Lennon who was nowhere near as difficult obtaining came in and Routledge was screwed lol.

If we didn't already have Sissoko I'd be more keen.

I think this really is the thing. I'm not a fan of either Sissoko or Zaha, don't really rate either to be honest. I see them as both being big gamble signings so I don't think it'd be wise taking both of them. Besides, the type of player Zaha is is really not what we need. We need a clever player, not a headless chicken.
