No idea whether palaces stance on Zaha has changed, but Sam had tried to sign AT for both westham and Sunderland. Clearly rates him. Question is whether that has any bearing on Wilfs future or not.
Parish was at the game tonight. Our only chance of signing Zaha would probably come down to Palace signing Jay Rod.

I feel there's an inevitability that this will eventually happen.

I know we don't do swaps, always separate deals, but I was wondering if we could get anywhere near their valuation by offering them a player and thought Ben Davies might be a good fit, since theyre in need of an lb and pay decent wages.

Then I came to the conclusion that this AfCon thing coupled with Parish refusing to accept their place in the food chain makes the deal un doable.

I really don't think a player missing a few games at the afcon will have any impact on a club signing them. that is just such short term thinking

I know that, I'm saying its a shame that he wasnt called up by Southgate.
Southgate spoke to him this week, according to the press, to see if he'll change his mind. It's CIV who called him up, not sure if he can reject it and change his mind, or whether it's too late now. Also not sure when the next England game is. Feb/March?

@Metalhead spam?

Looks like we've lost him now, whats infuriating is that you only have to pull on a Man United shirt and you are in the squad. Lingaard, Rashford and even Wallcott getting game time in wide positions ahead of Zaha is a travesty imo.

I believe Zaha now has 18 months left on his deal though, this window will be Palace's last chance to get full value for the player. Depends how stubborn, or foolish Parish is really.

Ah The Sun newspaper, what an absolute bunch of air thieves they are. The article is absolute nonsense. Imagine the scene, Allardyce calls in Zaha, "I'm seriously pissed off with you Wilf, so I've decided to punish you by selling you to a bigger, better club that consistently plays in europe. They will also give you the platform to massively further your career under a brilliant young coach, known for improving young english players. What do you think about that? HA!".

Anyway, this one does feel like it has some inevitability about it. We still most definitelty need an intelligent playmaker type but I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be adding a player with Zaha's speed and skill. He has more successful take-ons that any player in the prem and has shown that he gets assists when there is a decent striker on the end of his crosses.

If you were Ben davies, would you swap Spurs for Palace? He may not be playing every week but he is getting game time, and the Europa is I would think more minutes for him aswell.

Zaha’s decision to go to Gabon could also frustrate Tottenham Hotspur’s anticipated pursuit of the player next month. Spurs had derisory bids for Zaha dismissed in the summer – the first amounted to little more than £12m – and were expected to return with an improved offer in the region of £25m in January, though the fact Zaha could be absent for the entire month may wreck the possibility of a move.

Players should want to play. We have slagged off many players for choosing Chelsea or whoever over us. Rose plays 90 percent of games and always will. Davies could be a starter for palace in the prem for many years and stay in London. Think he will be very tempted

Yep. Virtually guaranteed to remain in the PL under Fat Sam.
