I have a soft spot for Palace. We don't need him as much as they do. Moura will be excellent once he's properly assimilated by MoPo. Rather give him opportunities than disembowel Palace.

Interesting figure from crystal palace end of year financials, published today. In the last financial year, they spent 78.3% of all income on wages. To put this into perspective, we paid 41.5% on wages.

Figures are from the last financial year (2016/17 season), which was before they gave Zaha a very juicy new contract. Can they afford to keep him? Crystal palace paid the highest percentage of income on wages in the league, with the 3 below them being Swansea, Sunderland and Stoke.

Moral is high wages don't necessarily equal success on the field. Aston Villa can provide further details if required.

And talk of them offering him a new £120k per week contract in the next few weeks.

Check out their win rate with and without Zaha in the team. Of all their players, he is the only one they can't afford not to keep

Definitely worries me like previous posters have stated about a player who is basically an entire teams offense. They give him the ball all game and basically just need one or two things to come off out of a bunch of opportunities. What happens when he has a limited amount of opportunities on the ball and isn't going to be the center piece of the team?

Alternatively, what happens when he isn’t the only player the opposition are focused on marking out of the game

A very good counterpoint. I mean at the end of the day who the hell knows. Theres certainly pros and cons to all of these guys.

He also wouldn't hold the weight of the entire team on his shoulders when playing for us, like he does at Palace.

I wouldn't mind him because I believe he brings something we don't currently have & any chance we have really depends on whether the player himself wants to play CL, because he's most unlikely to with CP, but has a chance with us.

What does he do that neither Son or Lucas can do?

I’m curious to see Liverpool’s financials.

For the past few years they’ve been spending a huge chunk of their turnover on wages. A percentage at first glance that looks unsustainable. Yet they’ve been throwing around money in the market like crazy and their wage bill has likely only increased a lot through it.

I don’t get it. Where is this money coming from? I thought FSG would at least want a return on the investment and not just a pure money dump.

Sorry to go off topic but the way a lot of these clubs are being run right now makes no sense to me.

There agents fees must be off the scale compared to everyone else as well. If anyone wants to know how they are getting all these players in quickly and over other teams, that is why.
