It does feel like Poch has scoured the whole of world football and come up with Martial and Zaha consistently for three years now.

That's the main reason hes possibly the one to push the boat out for.

"Zaha's move to Palace was made permanent with the signing of a five-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. It also included a buy back clause, believed to be in the region of £3 million, rising to £6 million with add-ons; Manchester United will also receive a percentage of the fee if Palace sell Zaha in the future"

This week stories have come out claiming that Wilfried Zaha has told Crystal Palace that he no longer wants to sign a new deal and is looking to leave this summer.

Everton and Tottenham have both been mooted as potential destinations for the £70m-rated winger.

However, football.london understands that while the Ivory Coast international has been a player of interest in the past for Spurs, Zaha is not on the club's list of potential targets being looked at this summer.

Pretty shocked that some people don't rate Zaha in all honesty. He's absolute quality and I can see why Poch would relish the opportunity to work with him.

He's Premier League proven, and with the right coaching I think he could easily be getting 15+ goals a season in a good side, if not more. Not many wide players have his physical stature (I hesitate to say it but can't think of anyone since Ronaldo).

It's not just his pace and power, but his dribbling ability. When teams park the bus against us at the moment we're predictable, which is why I think we're looking at Zaha who can trick his way past people and doesn't rely on an eye of the needle pass or space to run into.

All that said, there's no way we're paying £70m, and he's easily worth more than £70m to Palace as he practically singlehandedly kept them up last year, so I don't see it happening unless he goes on strike.
I argued this yesterday and most disagreed when I said Moura is not better than him.

Why?

Well Moura is an incredible dribbler, quick and adds a lot of variance to our attack but one aspect of his game that worries me is his finishing and whilst he's not as bad as Sterling, he doesn't generate a lot of power behind his shots and doesn't really scoring any goals from nothing. I see Moura as a player who will give Kane etc more chances and this is a great thing.

However, Zaha can do pretty much everything Moura can to great effect, except his finishing, power and striking from distance is much better.

Also, imagine Moura AND Zaha in the same team. That would rival Liverpool's attack in terms of having to deal with movement, trickery and pace. Defender's nightmare. We need to get this one done.

Stats don't really back that up:

I'm using my eyes and not stats on this one. Firstly, he was at PSG in an inferior league so was certainly finding space easier to come by thanks to the players he plays alongside and the weakness of the opposition. Secondly, watch how Moura strikes a ball, there's a lack of conviction, Zaha has much more power and conviction in his strikes.

Going by Herc's latest ITK, if Martial and Pulisic are no longer possible, I think we need to sign Zaha, a player from our A-list that Poch has clearly coveted for a long time. Most importantly of all, this protects the beating heart of our club, Poch and his project.

Whilst acknowledging cash plus player deals are difficult, I would see which of our available players Palace are interested in. Those players also need to be prepared to sign there.

But £40m in instalments, plus 2 of:

Sissoko (who spent several seasons at Newcastle)
Llorente (who was a key player at Swansea)
Janssen (who was a regular for the Dutch national team until his injuries, and still young)

Surely has a chance of doing it.

He qualifies as homegrown however if I'm not mistaken. £40-£50m tops not a penny more, especially after fluffing his lines at Man U when he got his big move. No wonder we aren't buying players, the markets gone nuts!
I'm sure we expect same level cash for our players

Surely if we do get Zaha it's a signal that we plan to move to the mooted 4-3-3 with Eriksen ad Dele in midfield. I just don't see a place for one, or even two, of Zaha, Lucas or Lamela if we don't. If we did sign Grealish and Zaha (and the mooted sales happen) this is what our midfield and forward options would look like in a 4-3-3:
Dier
Wanyama
Eriksen - Dele
Winks - Grealish
Lucas - Kane - Son
Lamela - Llorente - Zaha

Whereas if we play a 4-2-3-1 again with those players coming in we're still short a CM or two and we'd have about eight players for the 3 positons behind Kane, which would be far too many to satisfy them all.

imagine the outrage of a wife if she got nothing from her husband who promised her a present for their anniversary...
I just asked and she said same old same old.
If we paid £55m and Sissoko that would be £85m so they'd have to be pleased with that.

Man United masterstroke. Get target A to say he is unhappy, generating an interest from Tottenham Hotspur in acquiring that players services. String Tottenham Hotspur along all summer regarding target A until late in the window when they suddenly become desperate for target B whom they once owned and have a sell on clause attached to. The deal gets negotiated late in the day leading to an extorniate price being agreed resulting in Manchester United getting an even bigger slice of the sale % due to this.

End result = you end up retaining the services of player A p, who you were keeping all along and due to your bartering techniques, generate a further £5m in fees paid for player Bs transfer and sell on clause.

Split the profits with target A for stirring up interest in the first place which started the whole funfair and get back to business once it's all done, focusing on another season working together as bench buddies like you had planned all along!

Fucking genius!

I think I’m with you Yanno in trying to make it happen. And while the logic of cash plus players is alluring, as you say, the complexities of getting it all over the line are huge: Unwilling players who need to be well paid, multiple agents that need to be greased, persuading Roy to re-jig his team, etc.

Unless of course, this latest Zaha noise that has emanated from the club is all for the benefit of the counter-parties on the other deals...

Wilfried Zaha has rocked Crystal Palace after indicating for the first time that he wants to leave Selhurst Park.

The 25-year-old has rejected the offer of a new £125,000-a-week contract and Standard Sport understands he has made it clear to the club that he wants to play Champions League football.

Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are interested in Zaha, while Everton have also been weighing up a move for the winger this summer.

Palace are adamant they do not want to sell Zaha, but the Eagles now face a major fight to keep hold of a player they value at around £70million.

If Zaha wants Champions League football, then not only does that rule Everton out, it also stuffs chavski and the goons.

If we want him - make them a proper offer.

Straight in at £60m - don't piss them off with an offer way below what they value the player.
