I am actually gutted about Zaha. Am hoping JJs unlikely means we have better lined up but who am I kidding. The optimism is dead in me[/QUOTE

Yeah I was really hoping there was something in the new zaha talk. UNfortunately that doesn’t look to be the case.

Big shame imo

I agree. Our optimism fading away is just something I think we're used to, but if Poch's optimism starts fading I think it will bite Levy 'big time' in the arse.

It is but normally we have a few solid links to players throughout the windows and they seemingly just fail to materialise. This window has been a bit different as the only player we've really been linked with is Grealish. I've just been hopeful that something with Martial or Zaha may develop but even the links to them have just been pure speculation. It just hasn't felt like we've had many fingers in pies all summer.

If this window was a film, it’d be The Phantom Menace: lots of early promise curtesy of the marketing department, then just a series of dull moments...until the Darh Maul finale. If we get that in the final two weeks, it might make it bearable

And at the end it would take at the box office exactly how much it cost to make

Not Levy' s fault but it seems a lack of foresight by all concerned. Maybe someone should have had a word in Poch's ear. The kid is hardly ever going to play for Spurs and now the club are using all excuses under the sun for why we can't sign anyone.

Maybe we shouldn't have filled the squad with such shite in the first place. That's what happens when you take risks on cheap signings. They are no good and you can't get rid of them. Penny pinching always comes back to bite.

Could you provide a link to even a single quote from THFC that makes any excuse at all about the club not signing anyone?

Or are you reading what other people have said and taking that as an official line?

Because if it's the latter, and I rather suspect it is, you should remember that even if their information is 100% correct, the ITKs are not speaking as official outlets for the club. I do understand what you're saying, and I don't wholly disagree, but I haven't seen anything from the club that tallies with what you're suggesting.

I very much agree about the lack of foresight. To use a squad place on a non HG player that will hardly ever play wasn't the cleverest bit of thinking.
