I didnt want him anyway. It would certainly be nice to sign someone but Id prefer it be someone we really need and not at exorbitant cost.

Mostly we tend to leave our business late, not always, but mostly as its the most optimum time to extract value. Its been our MO for years so it really shouldn't come as too much of a shock. Couple that with the financial commitment towards the new stadium and its no surprise that we've seen little action on the incoming front.

I'm frustrated but realistic in equal measure. Levy runs things the way he sees fit, and its hard to criticise when you consider how far we've come in the general scheme of things.

I also understand the frustration, when it feels like we should be capitalising when riding high on the crest of a very nice wave - that's the frustration for me.

But these are all massive financial decisions, and only Levy and those around him understand the true implications of such deals, and in the context of planning around the new stadium and all associated cost.

The one thing that concerns me is what Pochettino has been assured. If there's been any goal post moving I wouldn't blame him for being really pissed off.

However if relations are all good, and he's happy, regardless of transfer activity or in spite of lack of, I'm happy regardless.

Pochettino being content is the single most important factor in my mind. If he's not, and goal posts have been moved it would be suicide on Levy's part given how far we've come under Poch. Really can't see Levy doing that though.

We were lookng to sgn Moura in the summer last year and decided against it and I think according to Itk we got a much better deal in Jan.

My brother works in a bank and just told me that Zaha was in earlier trying to pay in a cheque which was rejected because it was in the wrong name. I couldn't help but wonder whether the signature on it was D. Levy

Pulisic is a decent alternative but can't cover CF spot like Zaha. Martial won't happen, I think we won't get anyone in this position and we will stick with N'Koudou and hope we don't miss Son too much.

There was a belief too amongst some that there would be a statement signing for the new stadium. I know that it's easy to pour scorn on that as being realistic but I understand why people might have had that mindset.
