They probably came back with a higher fee, or we couldn't agree payment terms with Palace.

FWIW Grey Fox rated this 'agree'.

Wasn't going to mention it but think it's worth sharing to end the 'why is he choosing them over us if we have both agreed with Palace' debate, one way or another they have moved ahead of us in the queue.

Maybe this is dead because we are prioritising CM.

Your probably looking at close to 100m for Zaha and a CM. No way Levy commits that sort of amount without shifting some deadwood first.

Reckon we will get a CM (Grealish/JJ mystery player) and that will be it. Maybe Martial if Utd agree a swap for Toby.

It may just be an opinion of the Grey Fox, nothing more, nothing less.....

I think I may have finally come to terms with letting this one go.

I've literally no idea what we're doing and will continue to hope we manage the 3 new signings that have been mentioned before the deadline but can't say I'm overly confident.

We'll see I suppose.

Setting aside our Tottenham bias, a footballer who wants to retire with a medal or two if far more likely to pick Chelsea than us, it’s just how it is, they win things.
As for the financial they also have to operate within limits so doubt its ‘only’ the money

Yup, that's right. I would ask the following question too: If we can't attract a player over Chelsea at this point in time, with the two clubs in the relative position they're in, when will we be able to?

If this is right, if he's had the option of both and decided to go to Chelsea despite (1) their recent turmoil (2) their track record of screwing up players (3) our current position with manager, team stadium, CL....then that is pretty bloody sobering

He will go to Chelsea, if any one.

It still baffles me that in the world of football, we haven't been able to find any players that would improve our first 11.
It baffles you? Seriously? How can we improve the first team if Levy wont even spend a fucking £. With less than a week left in this transfer window (that was our biggest in years) where we’ve signed fuck all, Levy is nowhere close to signing anyone and will cost us the best team and manager we’ve had in years next summer. Yet he’ll still give himself another raise. And your baffled we cant improve the first XI?!?!?

We’re in turmoil also. At this point, our manager and our top players are liable to leave next summer and i wouldnt blame them one bit.

As has been said many times, they do have a record of winning things, even in seasons following 5th or 6th place finishes when their party seemed to be over

Until we can compete on fees and wages then we are where we are.

I would rather pass on grealish and use the funds to get Zaha, even if it means paying more than Chelsea. It's because it's Chelsea and I don't like Chelsea.

Turmoil hahaha.

We are heading into a brand new stadium, with a squad who have finished top 3 the past 3 seasons in a row. We have the world cup golden boot winner leading our strikeforce. A world cup winning captain. We are far from in “turmoil”

Lets look at other rivals:

Chelsea - ANOTHER new manager who has only had one signing but two of their big players are both linked with moves away.

United - Jose has already said he had a list of 5 players and he has none of them.

Liverpool - yep they have strengthened but then they have thrown money about since Klopp arrived and they still haven’t finished above us.

The premier league has become a lot tougher in the past 3/4 years yet we are one of the consistent clubs in terms of position. We still have 6 days left of the window, lets see if we can get some deals done before we all write off the season before we have even kicked a ball.
