I'm sure we were in for him but obviously not with any great desperation as Arsenal were so if it needed a loan back we just said nah not bothered.
I doubt the boy sees it as his forever club anyway.

In out current position we shouldn't be losing to Arsenal. Why are we not been seen as the better option? Levy and Poch still have some work to do on our profile it seems. This guy is a young French footballer and he won't come to a club with the French captain, NDombele and Sissoko really strange decision

Or we didn’t want to loan him back for the first 12 months

We were in for him. Just didn’t like the deal of 12 months loan back. Our package was better

Why try and engage when it seemed like the loan back was non negotiable?

Anyway, good luck to the kid.

I don't know why I'm bothered by this, but I am actually disappointed we haven't signed this guy based on ONE!!!!! YouTube video I've seen.
Does look a really talented defender.

Transfers are poker.
Arsenal have ended up having to pay more, and maybe worse terms, to sign a player.
Spurs’ “interest” obliged them to have to do that.

It is not always a question of “winning” or “losing” a signing. We have depleted their transfer budget. We had a price or terms we (maybe) were prepared to pay. Arsenal may have got a bargain or may have overpaid. Only time will tell. Too easy to jump to conclusions.

He probably likes it as it has reminded him to write us a nice Rivaldo letter thanking us for our interest last year but that he regretfully declines (sure it was Rivaldo)
