One thing I would say is that I have a sneaking suspicion that the sale of Bale is already agreed. Just seems like noone in the press is trying to force the move, kinda like everyone already knows he is off and is just keep quiet. Maybe a bit of a conspiracy but normally the press would be all over trying to force a move for bale.
Surely they would be over it all the more, if they thought the deal was agreed.

Maybe, you know when you have that feeling when it's all a bit quiet. That's what I'm feeling now!

Imo the only time we will spend the sort of money needed for this guy will be when Bale leaves

Unlikely really. We'll probably put the money aside to buy promising or slightly above average players for 3-4 years, at around £8m per player.

The Modric money should have been immediately put to buying an ideal replacement such as Moutinho. If and when Bale goes I can't see Levy suddenly deciding to spend north of £20m on anybody.

I'm not saying you are wrong my feeling is based on the press's love of destabilising Spurs and if they smelled blood they'd be moving in.

I think that is the reason I feel uneasy that they aren't trying to unsettle Bale. I'm so used to them doing it as soon as we get a good player an now we have one, and an unknown "agreement" with RM, a club who openly admires Bale yet the press say nothing!! Anyway in just being paranoid but I would wager a lot on Bale leaving this summer regardless so we need to find a replacement soon

I agree with you - he will probably leave this summer, I just don't think an agreement has been reached yet.

@jetsetyid @ceribowley Damiao is 23. He would be the future and might just convince Bale to stick around. Prob too expensive in Jan window..

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@IamSpurs @ceribowley I think Bale is already done m8 :0( [/color]

Just took this from the daily transfer rumour thread. Could just be his opinion but JJ is pretty well connected. I'm going to spend the next 5 months trying to come to terms with it!!

As a scenario, if we were selling bale for £50m in the summer you would think we would be desperate the secure the replacement before these clubs realise we have money to spend.

The way footballing going there's no point getting emotional about players, yes we'd all want Bale to stay but if the money was right or Bale started making noise we should sell... end of.

As for Willian he'd be ideal for us the sort of player that could make a difference, the jest though with Spurs is whenever you feel we should just push the boat out just once we never do, in fairness that mentality has kept us from financial ruin but not enough to push us to the next level. Saying that we are steadily moving up to another level with our long term plan buying the next Bale's Modric Kaboul etc and improving them aswell our standing in the EPL.

For all I know that could be the Russian equivalent of Talksport or The Daily Mail.

could be, yours to decide
but having had a few years experience deciphering the russian/ukraine media, they dont tend to step to far over the line as our media do.

Has anyone seen a lot Willian in games?

All I have to go on are online clips like this one -

He seems really skilful but how is he with crosses? What's his work rate like and does he track back and help out he defence at all?

He is a good player but 20 goals in 140 games- we can't afford to have more non goal scorers in the team. Unless he was to replace one of the following- Sandro, Dembele, Lennon, that would make four of the front six players very occasional scorers, meaning the other two would need to get a huge number between them.

What does it say?
something along the lines that spurs are in for him for about 20 million euros and that willian has not yet reported back to shaktar and they think it is so he can put pressure on the club to sell him. Also that terms have been agreed.

Some are probably leaving us alone atm because they're still feeling a bit silly about their "AVB is teh rubishest lol!" stories at the start of the season.
