you know we'll be linked heavily with him again and jj has said he thinks he'll be our #1 target.

whether he'll want to leave now with shakhtar in the final 16 of the cl is a doubt though, that along with the small matter of around 20 million pounds

A case of buyout clause or nothing when it comes to Willian I suspect.

He'll cost a lot more than £20m. Shaktar paid £17m for him and he's only improved his reputation since.

he cost $19m according to wiki which at the time would have been around £10m. he has 18 months left on his deal.

The only thing that makes me think they would get rid of Willian is if they are truly comfortable with Douglas Costa moving forward. Many have argued that Costa has even bigger potential than Willian had, and if he's ready, they do play a very similar type of game.

So, Willian + Mouthinho = £50m.

If we can shift Hudd and Livermore and possibly Gomes we're looking at what, £15m for the three? That knocks it down to £35m. A "£20m war-chest" has been reported here and there, so that knocks it down to £15m. Surely there's some money left from the Luka and VdV sales?

he will want some big old wage to.!! Aint gonna happen.

Did he not have some serious discussion with AVB over the summer?, even if not technically legal. I'm sure we know exactly the ball park his pay packet would fall in and must be willing to pay it. Otherwise we would not be bidding.

He seems to want to go to Chelsea from yesterdays reports.

The great thing about players like Willian and Costa (which I've come to learn from playing Football Manager lol) is that they can play on either wing or in the hole. Which is so useful when we have injuries. I'd love either of them at the club.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

We can forget about him, we lack both the money and the luster to attract such a player.

Just because you sell player a b and c for a combined price doesnt mean you have that money to spend right away.....there are loads of things the club pays off with a transfer fee.

The fact that William was willing to go to Shakhtar Donetskt means he is only motivated by money. So if we offer the biggest salary we get him. So just a purely economic issue, and we know the relative spending proclivities of Levy and Abromovich....

Not really has it occured to that by signing for Shakhtar he's more likely than not as a relative unknown got himself regular game time to develop and showcase his ability in the shop window that is the CL?

Don't agree with this sorry. Think it shows how good their scouting network is.
