He is in the Colombia 23 man squad for their Egypt friendly, looks likely to make their world cup squad. One thing from his highlights that really worries me is how he flies in, looks more reckless than Aurier

I happen to think that's his best attribute, he anticipates and closes the space down rapidly. It's pretty impressive skill to do, I like the guys intensity, can't claim to know anything about him, but he is ideal for the Poch press above anything else.

Regardless of whether we're upping the levels on signings or not, we're still going to take chances like this. Well worth the gamble imo, doesn't dent the budget much and he must have something about him to be going to the World Cup.

Colombia produce some very exciting players, but lets be honest their squad is not full of them. Plenty of very ordinary players will be going to the world cup.

Tim Vickery told us Paulinho was going to be a massive hit for us, "A more dynamic Frank Lampard" I think he described him as
To be fair this is the same Paulinho now playing for Barca. He is a good player just not for us.

Looking at some videos on youtube of him, he looks a bit raw but the talent is there. Nicknamed "Colombian Kanté". Not a bad comparison

This one really doesn't excite me. We have our rivals spending 60 million on CMs players like Keita. Is this what Poch means about being brave?

valuations are subjective and sometimes even the best managers can get the valuations wrong

Nobody other than Poch and probably Levy knows what he meant by being brave. All we can do is speculate and even then I doubt every deal we do falls into the brave category. Some are just deals because we like a player and see a need to fill out a roster spot that is or will become open.

A signing like this is a risk I’d say. If he’s coachable he could become excellent. If not he looks like a walking red card. Trouble is you never know until you get them.

The fact that we're seemingly after a number of different wingers, suggests we're maybe looking at playing a 4-3-3 on occasion. I'm guessing we could be after a more dynamic DM than Dier or Wanyama, as we'd likely have to play Eriksen deeper? This guy looks pretty raw to me, but as long as we also bring in proven talent, it could be a decent signing.

If he was 20 year old I'd be up for it. But he's 24 coming into his prime in a few years, I don't think he'll develop that much.

Seems to be reasonably confident in carrying the ball forward & appears extremely tenacious BUT he seems to do that challenge where you sort of jump in with both feet, a lot. Can foresee many a free-kick being conceded if it's not able to be coached out of him & he does it against some of the diving, theatrical ladyboy's that we have in the PL.

Don't forget that ITK stated we want 2 CM's. Maybe this lad is the cheap option (£15mil, I believe?) and there's a quality option on top of this lad?

Price tag doesnt equate to a good signing, how much was Kante and who had heard of him when he was plucked from France.

Decent listen this. General consensus is that he is a very effective destroyer-type midfielder who wouldn’t be out of place at most top clubs in Europe. Strong defensively but cool-headed and composed, and very neat and tidy on the ball. Has been linked with Sevilla too. He’s arguably Boca’s most important player, more so than even Tevez or Pavon. Established himself in their first team after the departure of Betancour to Juventus, and actually made them look stronger.
