From what I understand of their structure they have Ally G try and do the sensible Spurs stuff and actually try and get connections and stories then the rest of them just repost rumor mill stuff... Their site is so odd. Like 99% hitc clickbait rumor regurgitation and 1% proper reporting.Do the Football London writers not talk to each other?
It was obvious with all those players where they were going to fit into the team. Please tell me for footballing reasons why do we need Barrios? Would we be after him if his price tag was £40m?
I think we place too much emphasis on a player's value. Obviously we do take into account how they're going to fit into the team but compared to other teams I think we're more opportunists and it doesn't always result in balanced squads. We've seen that over the years.
Ally G is not accurate. Only thing I would agree, is we have not formally put in a bid. And I hope we don’t.

Oh come on FFS, he's obviously a pure DM. Dubbed the Colombian Kante. He's not a bloody number 10 or a Modric is he? It doesn't take much watching of his highlights on YT to figure that out either. So he's in the same bracket as Wanyama and Dier. Why then do we need him? If he's replacing Wanyama then maybe there's a little bit of logic, but there's been nothing strong to suggest he will go.Please tell me the footballing reasons against signing Barrios? I imagine you can’t, because like the rest of us here you have never watched on minute of him in action, have no idea what style of player he is, and haven’t a clue what our manager has identified in him as suitable. This is of course IF we are in for him, so far it’s just a rumour. His price has nothing to do with his quality. If it did, Sissoko would be one of our best players.
As for our policy v other teams policies when making signings, the only thing that is obvious over the years is that we have just finished 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, without spending even close to what our competitors are spending. Have you ever considered that we might actually be spending the right amount, the rest are spending too much? Of is this the point at which you tell me Pogba has given Utd 18 times more value than Dele has given us...
At the end of the day the only thing that should matter to you, me or anyone else is what we see on the pitch. How it’s put together is nothing to do with anybody but our board and our manager.
Dubbed the Colombian Kante by who? English fanboys majing YouTube videos as far as I can see.Oh come on FFS, he's obviously a pure DM. Dubbed the Colombian Kante. I expect the usual response that I get from a lot of people on here, Poch wants him so he must be right and everybody else is wrong for disagreeing.
I don't think we should sign players because they're expensive. I suspect Andre Gomes would be cheap as well but i'd much prefer him to Barrios because I think he possesses far more of the type of skillset that we are lacking.
It's a stretch to dress him up as anything other than a DM i'm afraid. Additionally nobody who has watched him regularly like a lot of South American journalists has said he's anything more than that. I'm not saying he's not good at what he does. He might well be, but it's about time we had more footballers in midfield and not athletes.Dubbed the Colombian Kante by who? English fanboys majing YouTube videos as far as I can see.
Why does he have to be a Modric or a number 10. Dembele is neither of those things but has been our best midfielder , and also is likely to be leaving due to being in his twilight. And just because he’s a DM, doesn’t mean he’s the same as what we have. You say ‘he’s in the same bracket as Dier and Wanyama’ but barring the fact that they’re both strong and can tackle, the play the game totally differently from one another. As for watching YT highlights, by the way, I remember when they made Payuchenko look like Van Basten. The reality was all too different,
It’s not a case of saying ‘if Pochettino wants him then I’m happy’. Pochettino wanted Sissoko after all. It’s just that it is plain moronic to throw ones toys out of the pram and accuse the club of lacking ambition because of a potential signing when the signing is someone you know literally nothing about beyond a few minutes of YouTube and a couple of lazy press reports by journalists who also likely know nothing about him.
Also, if this guy is just a pure DM, maybe the manager thinks that this guy is better than who we already have. If that’s the case, surely it is good to improve any area we are able to, not just the areas you want us to?

Yes it definitely does need to be a balance, but there is currently an imbalance way in favour of the athletes at the moment.I think it needs to be a balance, my concern with Wanyama and Dier is they lack the speed and mobility to play in the pivot on their own like for example Kante or Fernandinho can. If we signed this dude my hope would be it would mean we could play a more expansive passer with him rather than somebody like Mousa.

This video sums him up and seems in line with what the journalists are saying. An absolute warrior who will cover every blade of grass, but severely lacking in composure and technical ability. Look how many times he wins the ball really well only to give it straight back to the opposition. The passes he does complete are short and sideways.
When we have Wanyama and Dier already I just do not see the need at all.

I’ve long been advocating this. Dier/ Wanyama sitting with an attacking pivot in front. I also think we have the players for it with Dele and Eriksen. Then just go with any of Son, Lucas, Lamela and hopefully a new signing either side of Kane. However, we’d need Pep in charge to ever see this.Yeah I agree which is why i'm pushing the 4-3-3 narrative haha, 1 destroyer and 2 technical players
