Federer 1 set down in his 1st round game - on serve 2nd set, could we have a huge upset on the 1st day ?

Use the other sports forum.

We'll run a book in the 2nd week, there's too many in it to list now.

This might have to wait another year then.

From Bettingzone.co.uk :

0930: A bet placed seven years ago by a William Hill punter who has since died is set to boost Oxfam's funds by over £100,000 - if Roger Federer wins Wimbledon for a record breaking seventh time.

Nicholas Newlife from Kidlington in Oxfordshire staked £1,520 with Hills at odds of 66/1 for Federer to win seven Wimbledons before the year 2020, in August 2003.

The Swiss star has so far won six Wimbledon singles titles, and a seventh in the next couple of weeks will see the bet produce a payout of £101,840.

Sadly, however, Mr Newlife passed away in February, 2009 - leaving his entire estate to the charity, Oxfam.

Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "Mr Newlife made arrangements in his will to pass any profit from his bet on to his favoured charity, Oxfam - a unique eventuality in our experience - and we will, of course, be handing the profts from his far-sighted wager to them just as soon as Federer holds the trophy aloft for a seventh time.

"In the event that he fails to win this year - and he is 6/4 favourite to do so - the bet does not run out until 2019."

Falla still 6/4 to win this match, even being 2-0 up in sets, very tempting

Wimbledon 2010

I don't care if this should be in Sport and Gambling, I hate that forum, it's just full of stickies.

Great match going on at the moment, Federer just pulled it back to 2-1 against Falla. Great game, some awesome shots being played.

Falla must be absolutely bricking it. This would be absolutely huge, but you know Federer will step up.

Come on Falla, I have lost enough money last few days on Italy and Dustin choker Johnson

About as much as I hate the transfer rumours forum, it's full of made up rubbish that never comes to fruition.

We have to sticky stuff so people can see the latest books. And i moved this thread to other sports btw.

I didn't know "Other Sports" existed until yesterday, as I only use the 'Forums Jump' button at the top of the page which bears no link to it. Sorry for causing offence haxman.

No problem mate. The majority of stickies in betting and gambling aren't permanent, they're only there while an event is ongoing, most are removed after a few days. It's busy in there with the world cup atm. I saw you had asked for the drop down menu to be changed alright.

Back on topic, I agree with tototoner, come on Murray! I've been saying for a long time how he is going to win a major but he's yet to deliver. He could have used Federer dropping out yesterday though.

Mahut v Isner is not only the longest game in Wimbledon history but in the history of tennis at six hours and 34 minutes*.

* The match is still going at time of posting at 33-33 in the final set.
