Woooah!! What a match!!! Always wanted Nadal to win though...

Also love the amount of respect Federer gives, and how well behaved he is when he wins or loses!

Both played fantastic today, in great sporting spirits... LOVE IT!!!

Absoloutely chuffed. Great match and I had a couple of hundered quid of my Spain Euro 2008 winnings riding on Nadal. The combination of control and power these two consistantly churn out is fucking unbelievable.

It is hard to really appreciate how good Nadal must be to actually beat a player as complete as Federer. This power game isn't always as enjoyable as the good old days of McEnroe, Becker, etc etc but we are watching probably the two best players to ever play the game.

Stunning match, absolute stormer.
As someone said above me, Fed didnt look his best, Mrs actually comented that he didnt really look like he was bothered, running a paralell of when Bjorg won his 5th then lost the 6th to McEnroe.
Nadal visually wanted that more, Fed only broke Nadals server once in all 5 sets (I think), so final set was only going to go one way really.
Fed stuck in fair few unforced errors and Nadal was punishing on anything short or unplaced.
Nadal hits the ball so dam hard and to be still hitting that hard after like 4 hours was amazing, Fed tho showed the Champion he is by fighting all the way back, but i think the sands of change have blown.

you sound like an Arsenal fan flatters

"we were no where near our best"............"thats why we lost"

But he wasn't. :-(

If Federer had won it... it would have been a better match, or remembered as a better match. Nadal should have shared it with him. Selfish ****. I bet Federer would have shared it with Nadal if he won...

I just love Roger. He's so nice on and off the court. Rafa's not far behind in that respect though. I wanna say I like Rafa, but when I do, I get that funny feeling like I'm saying I like an Arsenal player.

I'm finally gonna start watching other slams now, and the Olympics will be a good start. Just bloody typical that I start properly supporting Federer as he loses his first Wimbledon final. I've always loved watching Wimbledon and always liked Federer, but now I realise that I love watching tennis more than football (bar Tottenham). Maybe I'm gonna need to join Fed Community if there is one.

Both are by far the best two players, although I was rooting for Federer last night.

I find nadal's slow play tactics very frustrating. He slows the game right down to his pace, and doesn't let the opposition player get in his swing. I saw it against Murray, very clever at getting the crowd silent before serving, he done it against Federer.

I heard, but don't know if its true, that a player gets 20 seconds to serve after the last point is won, and he goes over that 20 second barrier many times (think 5 second rule for goalkeeper). Umpires need to put that rule into effect as I found it very frustrating watching him because of it.

Saying that, he is seriously fucking good. Good match, still think Murray's win to get him to the quaters was the game of the tournament, that game had it all.

Yeah, Federer was talking about Nadal's slowing down tactics before the match, but said it wasn't gamesmanship, just what Nadal always does to ready himself.

Is that what Federer was complaining about in the last game or so? Federer was saying something to the umpire and possibly Nadal, but then I head Federer say "oh, sorry". Any idea what that was about?

Haven't got a clue mate.

Just what I found annoying watching him. I can't say it was the greatest final ever though, there have been some awesome games in the past.

I was never really a tennis fan but after watching the game yesterday, I'm hooked! I know most games aren't like that but will start to watch more now. I wanted Nadal to win and was glad he did!

Was a great final and I'm glad Nadal won, fair play to Fed though, awesome champion, just the way that he pulled out those big serves when he needed it was amazing. His comeback in the 3rd set from 0-40 down and 5-2 down in the tie-break showed alot of spirit. In the end though i'm pleased for Rafa, he has proved himself now on another surface.

If you wanted Nadal to win, you're gay. Simple as. End of. Federer will win the Olympic Games, US Open and Australian Open. :)
