Problem with our underwhelming transfers this window, apart from our frugal nature, is we have too many deadwoods that had to be gotten rid off first before we buy; otherwise we would have too many players for a 25 man slot. Still, not picking up Welbeck at £16M seems scandalous. Perhaps Levy thinks Poch can transform Harry Kane into Danny Graham.

If we have so much deadwood, have Baldini and others done their job properly regardless of manager ins and outs?

Ah ok. They've certainly had their moments - players like Crouch, Owen, Adam don't come cheap but at least they did it after a few years of consolidation and some prize money behind them. Unlike QPR who have spent heavily both times they've won promotion.

The big difference was Pulis who knows what he needs to keep a team in the league, whereas Redknapp and his predecessors apply the scatter gun technique.

But it still doesnt support the claim that Redknapp asked for a top level striker and got Saha. On the contrary, Redknapp was offered a top level striker and turned him down.

You are saying Redknapp wasn't backed whereas I'm saying that Redknapp was backed and in fact turned down a player who was arguably better than we had. Only difference is that your source of information actually supports my assertion.

There are different levels of ITK some that are plausible based on proven track records and others that are less so. Your opinion ranks about as highly as the wart on the underbelly of a sewer rat.
