He's hardly gonna come out and say he's crap now is he?!

Imo if u can win a World Cup- at any level- you can deal with pressure

In Poch I trust. I really hope Poch stick to KWP as 2nd choice RB this season - unless, of course, Poch's got strong doubts about him about being ready for the EPL.

A cygnet does not turn into a swan overnight. Even then, they need time to grow into maturity. He will feel nervous as he starts his career playing for the first team and, as every other footballer has, will likely make the odd mistake. I hope that the few on here who are quick to criticise give the lad time to acclimatise and to learn. The last thing that is wanted is to risk destroying his confidence with harsh criticism.

By all accounts, he is one for the future ~ let's nurture him and get behind him so that he fulfills his promise.

Imo we need to bring in a player to cover rb/rcb. Someone like veltman. This will provide senior, experienced cover in the event of long term injury and still allow the likes of both ccv and kwp to get some game time

It's still bizarre to me that he has virtually the same name and plays the same position as walker.

Dier will undoubtedly be called upon to play at RB from time to time I'm sure. He did a pretty decent job of it too last time round. Think he scored on his debut playing at RB ? Seems he'll become our Milner. Slotting in where we need him. I personally rate as his a good footballer and can play comfortably in his many positions. Keeping him on our payroll is like signing a player or two.

I really don't rate him at Rb or cb in a back 4. Personally I think he wants to play cm, and has voiced this to poch- hence the quashing of the mu rumours. Furthermore in the USA friendlies he's not played at the back.... coincidence????

I expect him to be a top full back, our academy has produced international full backs consistently, Young, Carr and Kelly being examples of that.

They way KWP plays, both right and left back, the way he moves with the ball and the way he looks to take on players reminds me of Chris Hughton. Hope he develops in the same manner as Chris.

I never said he'd make it, just that he has experience now in handling a high level of pressure associated with playing

Yes, but the pressure in the EPL is much higher than at any non-senior level WC. And the level is much higher in the EPL.
Besides, it's one thing to play well in a tournament but another to play well day-in, day-out in the EPL (and vice versa). Not all tournament "hits" do well in their respective leagues.
