Think we've got an absolute gem here. Hoping to see a lot more of him this season, and not all of it from the subs bench. Classy player with a classy attitude.

I like MP's approach as to how to bring on the young post academy 18 to 20 year olds.
It seems to me that too many of the top clubs loan them out to get 'game time'. That's OK, but with our lads they woul mean getting non Spurs training and playing to non Spurs ways. More importantly, they would not be building up that bonding with their fellow team mates which is so special to Spurs. Nor does it provide building up the that understanding between players.
It appears that with MP he recognises those who he feels fairly sure sill make it and wants to mould them himself. In the time he has been in charge, he has implemented this policy of integrating academy players with the first team squad, given them occasional cameo roles in the final 10 to 20 minutes and even more time in the minor cup games to slowly guide them to becoming first team players.
So far this different approach to buying success appears to be working. If this season is yet another successful one, I think you will see it being copied by other clubs.
Yet another first for THFC.

I've always seen him more as Scholes 2.0.

This update with added extra feature: tackling.

Love to see other clubs try. The gap between money clubs and smaller clubs is widening every season. It's almost impossible for smaller clubs to groom academy players and retain them. If we were a Huddersfield or a Sunderland Dele Alli Kane and Winks would be long gone. We've got something keeping our young players at the club and that's good. We are miles ahead where that's concerned. Long may it continue.

I think he's a great prospect but we cannot compare him to Iniesta yet. In time I'm sure he'll be a top class midfielder, and we got him for free. Let's not heap pressure on him though. We've also labelled Edwards as the new Messi, I'd love to see us get two of the next generation's best players but it's a big ask.

Disappointed he didn't get on the pitch yesterday. Think we'd have retained the ball better if we had used HW.
