Tottenham's Harry Winks has admitted that the atmosphere at Wembley was flat for Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup Third Round.

He's got a point, but we knew it would be poorer than WHL as fans are further from pitch.

My two biggest gripes are:
1 - sudden lack of songs for each player. Didn't hear Eriksen's song at all on Sat (last season it cropped up at almost every free-kick & corner)
2 - drop in intensity during and after the 85th min fire drill

Having read that it sounds like his ankle is fine now & he finally feels 100%, great news, time to kick your season off now

It's going to be hard to replecate the atmosphere of WHL in a modern stadium. As a fan the views are great from where I sit at Wembley but it does seem so remote at times, almost like watching on TV

I sit in block B but I heard the people over in what used to be the park lane end singing eriksen's name 3 times

But I agree with you otherwise. Where I sit there's been a poor atmosphere all season. There are plenty of other season ticket holders around me and most of them are silent for the entire game. Poor, really poor

Big fan of your username, love what you've done with it

For me the atmosphere is down to too many people remaining silent for the whole game. Honestly I sit with the same people every week and they don't even clap at the start when the team names are read out, let alone sing. I don't expect everyone to start signing the sol campbell songs or anything but you would think that season ticket holders could find it in themselves to chant come on you spurs every now and then

I reckon we would have got at least one of those penalty appeals against swansea if we had been at WHL.
Fans influence refs especially if they are close to the pitch and all appealing for decisions along with the players.

Nah! Dean is a dickhead, if 70k don't make enough noise calling for a pen, it would make no difference at WHL with half that number, he just wasn't gonna us one.
