Eriksen does fuck all defending is this maybe a possible replacement?
Rabiot is more of a true central midfielder than an attacking midfielder that Eriksen is. So replacing Dembele/rotating with Winks with a guy who seemingly doesn't love to play defense.

Never seen him to be fair but when you said no defending i thought attacking midfielder but if he is right in the middle and cannot tackle no thanks not what we need

The issue isn't so much if he can, its that he might not want to all the time.

I could be wrong but I believe the rumors were this summer that he was unhappy playing in a 2 DM system under Emery and wanted to play as more of a 10 or the most progressive attacking midfielder in a 3 and Tuchel also didn't fancy him there. I've always believed him to be quite good at tackling and shielding a defense so not liking what he is best at doesn't seem very sound for him. Would rather he go to Barca (because what they really need is a true DM to save Busquets and he would in no way help them) and we get one of Ndombele or De Jong (... Or someone who wants to play the role we actually need)

Wasn't that the idea behind Vidal?

PSG have also created one of those dangerous locker room situations where the players seem to have more say than the manager. If he comes into a situation here with Poch, maybe he changes.. Who knows.

I'm all for improvement, and maybe the fear factor you talk of is debatable regarding Moura.

What I would like to mention is the fact that this is Moura's first full season in a Spurs shirt. 4 months in, 13 premier league games. He's bagged 4 prem goals, won POTM for August, and for the relatively low fee we paid in the current market, I'd say he was an excellent acquisition and certainly deserves more time before being written off so quickly.

He clearly has ability, and hopefully under Poch's guidance will excel further and hopefully meet your criteria. (y)

EDIT : I must confess that I was not overwhelmed when we were linked or had just signed ( can't remember which,) wrote as much on here.

I too at the time stated that I would've preferred Martial or Zaha, blistering pace and the fear factor.

But like I said, I've got to look at what Moura's done thus far in a 1/3 of his full debut season, and I think he has performed well and has certainly given himself a decent platform to work from.
I think tonight was yet more evidence of how Lamela/Moura aren’t good enough replacements for Son/Eriksen

Both of them carried us since the start of the season when Alli and Eriksen were tired (or whatever they had) and Son was with the Asian Cup. A season in which we have not played well, but we are still in CL places.
So I'd say they are more than good enough

Good grief change the record.

Getting direct replacements is nigh on impossible, there's not many clubs in world football who have subs who are equal to if not better than their starters, just what are you expecting?

It's such an inane argument.

Moura and Lamela are the second best back up attacking mid options in the league. Better than shaqiri and Sturridge, better than iwobi and Welbeck, better than pedro and RLC, better than any of the shite at United.

The only better ones are paying for the moneybags juggernaut and im sure they're being adequately compensated.

Houssem Aouar Lyon. Only 20 and made Man City’s MF look second class.

Buy him and Tango NDombelbelly well u know who I mean :)

65m quid and MF sorted for ten years. Still not convinced about Tango however.

That will be the price for one of them though

Rumors of Rabiot in the stands today due to a confrontation with Tuchel in training. I could see a scenario this summer where De Jong goes to Barca, Ndombele to City and Rabiot looking to us. Not sure I love it given I like the other two a lot more and I think Rabiot has some serious work ethic issues. Was just watching some clips of him just walking in midfield while players are running past him to PSGs defense. Don't think that would fly with Poch.

That all sounds both highly feasible and thoroughly unsatisfactory

Saw something on twitter about Pep being interested in Aouar. He's the other highly rated CM that Lyon have. Maybe they'll go for him instead of N'Dombele?

Only downside being that it's not likely Aulas would let both his CM's go in one summer.

If they lose Rabiot they will throw money on a replacement. Possibly Ndombele for the French factor?
