Unlikely we bring any players that can challenge the starting XI in January. I hope we can offload deadwood, and perhaps sign a couple of younger, highly-rated players that can then be loaned back to their current clubs. And then have them come in for a full preseason under Poch. Indeed, I'd love to see us adopt more of a strategy that targets these younger talents in the same way Dortmund, Ajax and others seem to have success with. Invariably, it's those same players that we go after when they are more established and more-often-than-not fail to sign. We might have more success in identifying these talents earlier, get them signed and loaned out, as needed, to get the experience required to have an impact in the PL. It's not like it has to be one over the other. But I'd at least like to see this strategy incorporated more into our overall recruitment planning.

If the rumours that Dembele is off in Jan turn out to be true than we will have to sign a new CM if levy likes it or not.

If Villa are languishing in mid table we may have a shot at getting Grealish in. Can't see them selling if they are near the playoff spots or higher though.

I'm sure if , like moura, a talent becomes available we will go for it.

on the contrary my friend, the window went completely to plan. Issue bullsh*t rumours of a warchest- check. Sell out STs and cheese room- check. BSoDL insist we can only complain after the window has slammed shut on our noses- check.

We know that when we sell that pussy Eriksen, who couldn't tackle an empty crisp packet, the proceeds won't be used on the stadium to optimise the value of ENICs investment? Don't we?

Wow. Someone needs a hug.

I bet we don't levy will convince poch that they can muddle through as we won't need anyone adding to the wage bill.

Keeping an eye out for premium players not getting games at PSG, Bayern, Barca or Real. I suspect we will make moves for these type of players and then give them the Lucas treatment of cup games and learning the system so they’re properly ready for next season.

We’re in a mess with contracts (Jan, Toby, Dembele) so will be interesting to see what happens with these 3.

More important would be to get players like Eriksen, Dele, Vertonghen and Toby to sign new contracts...

The only reason Moura wasn't more involved last season was the fact he only played 79mins when we signed him. if we do purchase anyone that has played for their team, they will see more minutes than what Moura saw.

I reckon a lot depends on where we are in the league, stadium and involved in the cups, with injuries, fatigue and players sold before we enter the market. if we are struggling for top 4, out of all cups, and struggle to sell Toby, Dembele and others then we won't sign anyone. if we sell anyone and are still involved it would be suicide not to try and replace unless a youth player is putting down a marker

We have quite a few highly rated young players already who don't get a look in. If Foyth, KWP etc were playing for Ajax (which they certainly could) there'd be a huge clamour for us to chuck money at signing them.

the worrying thing with Eriksen at the moment is, are his performances down to contract issues, change of playing instructions, or even this international strike by the Danish players.

Dele I'd not be shocked if he is that bothered with a new contract, I'm not saying he might not be asking for more than what he is being offered, but might be a case of thinking he might have another season with us, and see how it goes before trying for a move. just my onions, I think he believes he will be the next big signing to move abroad.

Jan didn't know there was a problem, perhaps it's due to the Toby situation especially with the likelihood of Dembele moving on, or something about hoping to try and cut his playing minutes down to extend his playing career, and wasn't impressed we never signed anyone.

Toby is a tough 1, v Man U he proved he deserves a good contract, v Watford like many he deserved to pay his wages back. if he hasn't signed a contract by December I expect Spurs to use the year extension and then sell for the 25m. whether that will be in January or the Summer I don't know.

the thing is we all thought players new contracts would be announced before the season started, yet these 4 haven't. is it the players, is it the club situation with the Stadium, and failed naming rights, or are they all pissed off that we never signed players without understanding we had to sell too, or have a complete overloaded squad with 3+ players getting a very good wage for sitting at home playing on their PS4's

Mine would be to transfer the fickle minority of fans we have that have been going OTT with their criticism every time we lose.No problem with constructive shit, but alot of it has been ridiculous.
We win our next game we are top.... Keep it fucking real
Sorry for going off topic.

and equally with the the greater number who over-celebrate a couple of squeaky victories then pass that off as proof we didn't need to invest during thew window. It's early doors, we're gonna do well. Are we gonna do better, with Lucas rediscovering his form? Of course it's gonna take a while to work that out, but one thing is pretty clear. Competition for top 4 and the domestic cups just got tougher.

we did need to invest, but due to squad size, and HG issues we also had to sell, which never happened. how many players should we buy and then pay others that can't play because they can't be included in the squad.

If we get bids for Aurier, N'koudou and Janssen then maybe we can get someone decent in.
Monkeys, typewriters, the full works of Shakespeare before that happens. I just feel that those three will be drawing their pensions before we move them on
