That was 8 years ago. If his only strength is being able to head the ball he probably isn't very good.

Janssen is most definitely shit.

that's your view, he might of not scored the goals for us, but still contributed big time to our 2nd place finish. it's never easy at a new club a new country to slot straight in, and if personal problems happen then that can have an effect (THAT IS ITK I know his uncle), even a player like Saldado struggled.

He’s not actually been good - you lot need to watch more than just MOTD before you start pining for players. Aurier is far better than him.

Watched a few of their games... He JUST joined this season and what I've seen so far, he's better than Aurier..Personal taste though.

That's a stretch...

just because he doesn't have the last touch doesn't mean he didn't contribute.

how many games did he start that we went onto lose?

he never hit the heights and trying to replace Kane or Son when they were playing well. this position is never going to be easy, because strikers and keepers perform better with consistency and playing time. Batshuayi struggled with Chelsea, and performed better once he played regular for Dortmund, but didn't do much when he got his chance on the WC stage.

Wonder if/when we don’t sign anyone in January we’ll hear more spin about bringing our youth players though, we’re doing really well At that so far I think Amos got 5 minutes

Tbf it'd be far less frustrating than signing someone and then waiting 6 months to see them play, for unknown fitness/training reasons.

tbf he might have suggested him - it's possible that in that very moment Poch thought the 4 or 5 options we had in that area were plenty.
The thing thats weird about the whole midfield is that we've clearly been looking in that area for 3 straight summers now. Sissoko, Barkley and whatever the hell happened this year.

Shelvey. I've been banging his drum for ages. Exactly what we need.

Different to Dembele of course, very different skill set... But a long term replacement in the squad.

Stick him beside Wanyama or Dier, and we'd look a completely different team.

Much more spooooooooky?

I think we'll never not be looking for young English talent (Barkley/Grealish) if the opportunity presents, for the very least because it's just good business. Sissoko was apparently Poch's specific brief of a strong/pacey player that offered something different if I recall?

I remember not too long ago the club wouldn't stop buying fucking midfielders - when we really didn't need them. Maybe it's Levy's fetish?

Looking at our team at the moment we need far more than we will get. A midfield power house who can drive play forward is probably the most important acquisition that we can make

I think you can do that through someone who can pass and move the ball quickly too. I agree someone of the skill set you described would be beneficial but personally I’d rather someone who can play the passes quick and accurately.

I agree but that doesn’t seem the type of midfielder poch seems to like
