For me Berge is the potential Dembele replacement, he can graft but also both passes and keeps the ball really well, he's very hard to shrug off the ball and can use that to drive forward or hold the ball until an opportunity arises. But he didn't play either Norway game this past week because of over-exertion and tiredness, which makes me think his natural fitness might not be all that. He did miss the second half of last season with a muscle injury that got more complicated than expected as well.

Huge talent and absolutely the right kind of player for us but with a risky injury history.
You think he's more box to box than a holding player?

I'd quite like Ake, but I'd like to keep hold of Jan. That would be strengthening. Rose could then move on as he wished as Ake is a decent LB too.

For me Berge has a potentially very similar skillset to Dembele, but yeah he does tend to play a bit deeper.
Got it, I envisioned him as more of a Wanyama replacement and getting a more offensive minded player for Dembeles replacement, but I've only seen the clips on youtube and what I've read.

I do think he has much more offensive skill than Wanyama of course.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Yeah but at Everton he was REALLY broken.

Don't we 'manage' enough players through a season as it is without adding more to the mix?
No but I mean why the f**k would Chelsea have ever considered selling to us even allowing for the animosity? He's not long been there.

Levy faces a huge challenge this winter TW. The fans, the media, the players and the coach are all watching, waiting for a signal of intent - one way or the other.
It's clear that should he refuse to open the coffers and bring in fresh faces to bolster areas of concern (EG, Midfield), and if we start to fall out of the contention for the top 4, then we should all brace ourselves for a wretched summer. As I truly believe that Poch will leave, closely followed by Eriksen and Kane too.
I think most agreed last summer... it was a make-or-break window. A shit or-get-off-the-pot opportunity that would determine our fate as a perpetual contender or perennial also-rans.
The fact that Harry and Poch are still here is in large part because they are both honorable chaps. They were given sizable raises, and I'd imagine assurances too. They got one side of the deal, but definitely not the other. If I were them, I'd be angry and frustrated with Levy.
So, if our Chairman is aware of this, yet still chooses to keep the 'Bank of Baldy' closed, then a shitstorm is on the horizon for all of us supporters.

Don't know how it will pan out, but one thing's for sure; Levy doesn't care what that lot think.

He made his statement of intent last window. The statement being "We aim to at most stand still."

We might get Dack, Bradley Dack
I hope he doesn’t turn out to be cack
He’ll only cost 5 mill
He’s faster than Cahill
That’s all I can say about Bradley Dack

Quite like Bradley Dack. He certainly fits that maverick role, reminds of some 70s through back. Certainly got a swagger about him and will clearly end up in the PL. I certainly wouldn’t dismiss him out of hand as he may not look a prime physical specimen. Players like Payet and waddle spring to mind.

Was waiting for the dack links. Very good player, but not sure he's got a workrate poch will love. Very skillful tho and good finisher.

I wouldn't hate that signing but we need better really in midfield.

re, Dack.. I see there's the usual dismissing of a lad that probably hardly anyone has even watched, and probably because he's not from somewhere exotic & called Dackinho.

I've also never seen the lad play, but a little search on Google led me to a page reporting the link, and ran a comparison with Grealish. The very player many of us would've happily added to our ranks in the summer. Makes for interesting reading....

The 24-year-old has been a goal machine from the middle of the park, netting eight goals in 10 appearances for Rovers, and if that was not enough, he has also chipped in with five assists, meaning he is contributing to over a goal every game – not bad for someone playing for a newly promoted side.

To compare, Grealish has played 13 games across both the league and cups, but has one solitary assist to his name, as well as four yellow cards, all at a side who were a Premier League outfit three seasons ago.
