So do I, but those f****** won't sell to us

When do we get in a position where that doesnt matter?

I mean would they be more inclined selling to Chelski than us?

I suppose it makes it worse when youve got Levy negotiating as well as the years of hatred and jelousy.

Couldn’t even get Citeh to sell us Sancho and we had a player we were handing over to them so it would be hard to pull this one off as well and one of the bigger boys will probably get it done.

Always dubious about throwing big money at the latest fad player.

Rice looks like a prospect but how many times have we been there before? There’s 2-3 on this pitch tonight that people creamed over at various times. Gray, Maddison etc
If Rice has good people around him he’ll be postponing contract talks until the summer then seeing what he has in way of offers then. Just concentrate on his football for now

One of the Burnley GKs (backup) and a Bournemouth forward would go a long way in helping out our HG issues.

We had interest in David Brooks last season but didn’t follow through with it. Looking like a mistake now. Maddison gets lots of coverage but this guy has as much potential.

Before we buy foreign, with the limitless cash we haven't got, we need to sell as already have too many on books. English players are generally overpriced - but as proven with Maddison you can still find players with value

We wanted rid of some last window but couldn't find takers - why will we in January when they have sat around not even getting near a game, whist another has walked on for a couple of minutes. The value of Llorente, Nkoudou and Jansen is zilch. Wanyama value would be low because of fitness issues.

Dembele will still have small value but he might want to stick it out to be a free agent next summer.

In January we have the same issue that we had last summer - we need to sell before we can buy.

No doubt we need a re-vamp but finished articles will cost loads and believe £100m to £150m net transfer pot rumoured last summer will not be available.

We need to sell some of the first team squad to allow us to develop. Foyth and KWP need opportunity to show what they can do - so a regular CB and RB can be sold. I don't believe Toby will sign another contract here- so would let go in next window for the right price.

Would love a DeJong or Ndombele but believe both needed to be done last summer for us to have a chance.

May be I'm down with all that has gone on since end of last season, but the optimism and vision of where I thought we were going has tarnished. Poch has real problems on his hands in the next 18 mths to achieve the desires of us all - and would be surprised if he saw the time out.

Once he got rid of dead wood, he found a group of young players who bought in to his philosophy and long term plan. Some of those players now need to be moved on, and find new believers to marry with those who still fulfill his demands.

There never was a £150m net transfer pot. It was allegedly a £150m gross transfer pot assuming sales of £120m; i.e. we had around a £30m transfer pot. The extra costs associated with the stadium will more than wipe out any remaining transfer pot. Unless we sell, I doubt that there is any money for purchases.

Interesting that there have been stories in the media this week (no doubt leaked by Donna) about the Alli and Eriksen contracts. If we can't reach agreement on new contracts, it wouldn't surprise me if we looked to sell in January to free up some cash for transfers. We can't afford to let Eriksen run down his contract.

JJ confirming that we really tried for De Jong but Overmars flat out refused to sell.

I think we need to accept that we aren't going to be signing any Davinson Sanchez style signings for the foreseeable future. I can only imagine we will be looking to bring in players who are much less on the radar of others as the price isn't going to be driven up.

If we aren't actually going to give Kyle Walker-Peters a chance, I hope we go for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and let KWP go somewhere he will be valued (and sell one of Trippier/Aurier).

Bissaka is a baller. Really like him. That said I want kwp to be given his chance to shine. I wouldn't be opposed to outing trippier and aurier and having them 2 youngsters fight it out though.

Yeah, I agree. To this point, it just doesn't seem like KWP getting meaningful minutes is on the cards.

Interesting to see Emery playing Xhaka at LB. Think to many managers are scared to experiment and players get pigeon holed in one position their whole career. Could have unknown gems in your squad if only a manager would be braver.

Reason why KWP isn't getting any games is because we have two full internationals ahead of him. The saying that if you are good enough you'll get the opportunity just isn't correct. A manager will almost always play his safest card. If Bissaka was from our academy he wouldn't get his chance with us either, if we're willing to sell one of Trippier or Aurier then we have the replacement. A youth player just drowns in the masses if there's 2-3 seniors that block him. Often it takes injuries for a youth to get his opportunity, one of the few exceptions are when we had Europa League football and youth got the chance there to prove themselves to the manager.

Wait, why would we accept that we aren't going to be signing anyone like Davinson when JJ literally just said thats what we were trying to do?
