There are so many spots we need to address before we even consider 60 mil on Zaha.

I said it in the summer, I will say it again now, I hope we never sign him, at Palace he can be loved, not enough end product for me, and that's playing for a team that doesn't have 2 banks of 4 playing against them. watching those City players when they were in full flow, their 1 touch and trickery made Zaha look a novice

I just think selling Trippier is an uncommonly bad idea when we are pushing the limits for number of non-home-grown players.
I think we can fill it in with something else. If we can get 25 mil for Trippier, go buy some one cheap to sit on the bench or promote a youth player.

Gonna need at least one new LB and might have to promote a kid up into that position too. Going to have to bring in at least two midfielders; a second striker as well, maybe a new GK, and a CB. It's fucked how the club has let it get to this point imo.

Exactly, football constantly evolves. Whether you’re a struggling side or the cream of the crop you’ve always got to bolster your squad every year... whether it be moving out squad players, replacing ageing and/or players whom won’t sign new deals or taking up the chance to sign genuine quality.

Look at Burnley, a squad full of grafters with no stand out quality... they’ve done really well the last few seasons but this year they’ve stood still and unless things drastically change they’re going down. We already had a very good squad but lacked depth to be title contenders. We’ve failed to strengthen and this season it’s showing. Yes we’ve had a very good start points wise but performance wise we’re way off the pace, been outplayed by 2 title rivals and murdered in the champions league.

It is absolutely bonkers that we didn't sign anyone in the summer. But we literally self-detonated in both the Inter and PSV games. Even with this squad we should have beaten them both soundly.

I just can't understand how they sit back whilst it is happening and think "yeah, if we get no one in it'll be fine.". We've had the same issues for two seasons now. Lack of a competent second striker; and lack of a good, technical, passing midfielder. Now it's far worse than that

Wow, this has been an uplifting, joyous morning read. Makes Leonard Cohen’s back catalogue sound like The Teletubbies theme tune

It's not all down to lack of signings although yes we needed more quality but the whole club seems to be under the weather from manager to the players, there seems to be a lack of sparkle around the team whether that started with the non existent window I couldn't say but everything about the club is underwhelming.

Because they thought they could flog the horse for another season and get away with it but as it shows they can't.

maybe 18 months ago we needed 1/2 players to be competing for the title, we now need a big overhaul of 6-8 players and I'd welcome any debate as to how anybody can disagree that that isn't evidence of a poor transfer policy.
We need 6 or 7 players to have a city-like squad of superstars, sure.

But we don’t need that many to have a competitive side. 2/3 would be fine plus replacing any key players leaving.

I don't get the fascination over a 2nd striker. We were fantastic with a fluid front 3 last season when Kane was out and even City chose to go with David Silva up front as opposed to a very competent backup in Jesus. We don't need a direct backup as it isn't going to happen. Having that different system is a great weapon to have when they're on form.
