I think we’ll end up with Barrios and a left-back in January. Maybe we’ll try for Sess again, I don’t know?

KWP should be getting the odd game if not more for us by now, Trips just isn’t able to do what we need. He hardly even put a good cross in yesterday, which is his best attribute.

Can't see Fulham offloading in January. May have a shot at one of the guys out in Portugal. Those clubs are always looking for cash.

I think it was @TheAmerican who mentioned him

Really wish we would have made good on the Ricardo Periera link. I don't remember what happened (3rd party ownership or something?) but Leicester was able to get it across the line and he's been solid.

Yeah, it's always fairly funny how much we apparently struggle with Third Party Ownership... yet those around us, seem able to get those deals done. Is that 'cos Levy isn't a fan of those types of arrangements or just bad luck?

Something got Levy all pissy from what I remember, think it was multiple owners or something. Always looking out for an excuse! (jk, kind of)

From what I've read he's been good offensively and suspect defensively for Leicester.

At this juncture, I think I'd be very happy if we could focus on signing younger players in January to start with us in the following summer. Just can't see us bringing in anyone this January that could make an immediate impact. It would have to be an out-of-left field deal or loan.

Ndombele is supposedly valued at around 55 mil. In this market I think that's reasonable. Anyone who has seen him play can see his talent. Personally I think we should make him our number 1 target. If he goes to City or Utd then so it goes, but this is one position we should pay big for. If we paid 40 odd mil for Sanchez then 50 odd for Ndombele should not be that unrealistic. He could be our starting CM for many years to come.

I do find it funny that people have already determined that Ndombele is out of our range. Fekir who had a bigger rep was going to be sold to Liverpool for 50mill. We can certainly pay that if we wanted to.

I understand that the press are claiming other big clubs are in for him but you could say that about any player that is showing promise.

I still think we should go for him as the Dembele replacement, Tierney for LB and 1 of Barrios or Diawara for DM.

It's honestly hard to describe how perfect he would be. He's a Dembele that can pass.

But whilst what you say maybe true can you see levy backing poch with a 55m or North of that figure anytime soon because I can't.

I’d be happy for us to sell off a tenth of the stadium we’re never moving in to and blow the money on De Ligt tbh.

I watched a replay ofToulouse and Nice, and Sangare really stood out to me. I read into him a bit and he's gaining quite a reputation for himself, this season. He is a really strong dribbler and tackler.. He seems very intelligent, as he gets into good positions on the field. I think he reads the game very well for his age (20). He makes good transitional runs and passes. While he isn't flashy, he is simply and effective. I think he would be a good pickup.

An article on him: https://www.whoscored.com/Articles/cvTxb_wLD06liETBXZGVUg/Show/Scout-Report-Ibrahim-Sangare-Ligue-1’s-next-midfield-colossus

Having made his debut as an 18-year-old back in 2016, the Ivorian only really established himself as a first team regular midway through last season, going on to start 18 times in Ligue 1. He's continued that under Alain Casanova this season. His ball-winning ability was clear to see, averaging the most tackles per 90 minutes of players to start ten or more games (4.1) - a feat previously achieved by the likes of Mario Lemina, Idrissa Gueye and, of course, N’Golo Kante.

After four matches of the current season he’s already improved on that figure, currently averaging 4.5 per 90 minutes, with no player having made more tackles in total ahead of the international break (18).

Only Allan Saint-Maximin (15) and Ferland Mendy (14) have completed more dribbles in Ligue 1 than the youngster at this early stage (13), and while he proved last season that he was able to use his power to breeze past opponents, again his efficiency is on the rise. Last season the midfielder completed 29 of 36 attempts - an impressive 80.6 per cent success - and this time around he’s been dispossessed on just three of 16 attempts - 81.3 per cent.
You are on to something here. I watch most of Toulouse's (for the bants with another poster on this board that supports them) games and he is decent. Would have said the same thing about Issa Diop before WHam got him and was surprised they sold him as he was the captain. Besides Sangare Toulouse have started using an 18yo CB by the name of Todibo that definitely has something about him.

Did you notice Nice's RB by the name Youcef Atal? Seems quite the player and he has impressed me in the 3 or so games I have seen. He's got quicks, tekkers, and some bite. Didn't pay enough attention to actually see how he defended necessarily though. And of course they still have Wylan Cyprien who is rounding back into form from his ACL.

Alario to replace Llorente. Could be a smart signing
I liked him out of Argentina and thought he would have been a good pickup. I think you were positive about his abilities when we were linked. He has impressed me at leverkusen (though he has not netted yet this year but they have played shit) and I feel they play better with him up top than Volland but he gets the nod.

Fekir only had 2 years left on his contract and a poor injury record, Ndombele has 5 years left.

We don't really need him. No way we keep Son, Lucas, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen and Zaha all happy. Especially as Alli and Eriksen hardly ever get benched when 100% fit.
So what you're saying (my inference here), is that in the context of our horrible MF issues and FB weaknesses AND our ultimate spending of squaddoush, is all the guff about 2 high priced wingers was probably bullshit as it made no sense from a team building or tactical perspective? I'm just trying to make sure I get your gist because when you consider that and reports of big money spends that never happen I would say that a reasonable person would begin to start doubting so-called ITK as DNS to pouring ungodly amounts of salt on fresh reports. What is a man to do when the inevitable reports of big money spends come up again in January...and then the summer? I got my fingers crossed on the summer's 150 being combined with a fresh new year tranche of 100M and the 250 will do us nicely.

Seems our plan was De Jong, De Ligt & Martial. Would have been awesome... if only.
...and my plan was boning Olivia Munn, Rachel McAdams and Amy Adams...as well as breaking par this summer at No. 2, Pebble, and Bandon but none of these things ever were/are gonna happen. But they do make a good storyline coming in 3s and all.

Rep means less now as teams have now seen him in the CL and City got a close-up. Fekir is a specialized type of player who I have always liked but have never wanted him at Spurs. NDombele, also almost 4 years younger than Fekir, is an all around midfielder (size, strength, speed, tekkers and ballplaying ability), of which there is a massive dearth in world football, would fit it at ANY team and in any tactical setup. Thus, he is a far more valuable prospect.

That said, I am not sure Lyon will ask for much more that Fekir's number but there may be a bidding war and Aulas will definitely welcome and wait for and f*cking Tweet about that.
