He brought in Jan, Hugo, Dembele, Eriksen, & Lamela so he at least did 5 good things.

It was a joke regarding his failed paris dakar bid, but since you point it out he said he wanted different players.

Not sure we will buy many ,mabye 1 and still depends on who we can shift, but for me the areas to improve/cover in order are:

DM - Ndomble or Dacoure?
LB - Chilwell ot Sessengon(if we plan on making him a LB)
AM - Grealish?
WF - Zaha? Or Sessengon(if we plan on keeping him as a LW). Would love Pulisic if possible. Not too fussed on Martial tbh.
CB* - if/once Toby goes... De Ligt or Maguire/Ake?
ST - Wilson?

It’s all about marginal gains with our squad at the moment as we can’t afford the very very top players to come in and improve our first XI but we do need to ship some deadwood and improve a few of our back up and rotation options.

Brooks from Bournemouth although I reckon we missed our chance when he genuinely was available and we were seemingly interested. He’s about the best player on the pitch in the Wales Denmark game tonight. Will be a star in a couple of years. A man in a boys body.

De Jong was dominating France when I was watching for a bit tonight. Looked a really top prospect.

Assume he’s worth about £400 million now though, and will just go to City or someone like that.

Shame, he’s what we need.

Ndombele looked good in brief cameo. Lovely little run right through heart of midfield ended in getting free kick. The other Dembele must be the most overrated player around. Not sure I’ve ever seen him have a good game.

don't miss the point about Levy/Board and AVB- he was a fkin stupid appointment. I'd agreed with all of Baldy's managerial appointments till then, even if they didn't work out.
agreed I absolutely loathed AVB and his style of football. Think it showed good judgement from the old tyrant not to give avb total carte blanche.

Ajax should be careful not to completely price out their precious young stars. There are some limits to what other clubs are willing to spend on players in the Dutch league. Even if we had Citeh money i wouldn't be overly thrilled with spending something along the lines of 90m for DeLigt. Just seems way too much for a kid impressing in a rather underwhelming league.

But then again, we are living in an age of ridiculously high transfer fees. So no doubt some team will pay up whatever Ajax wants. Suffice to say, won't be us.

Some exaggeration about Netherlands - France last night. Netherlands were very good and France very bad. Lloris probably best player on the pitch.

If you were judging on last night you’d think all french players were terrible and the Netherlands are world champions. It’s one game though so don’t draw any wild conclusions. Few weeks ago France massively outplayed Netherlands.

Is that the same Bergwijn who was abject against us when we played PSV?

Dumfries looked very good, tho!
Bergwijn only just turned 21 - there's room for improvement. And because of our chairman's weird transfer policies we need to look at players like him very carefully - that's the pool in which we angle for recruits

Obviously wouldn’t say no. But don’t see anything drastically better than Winks.

He's not going to be drastically better unless you think Winks is shit.
De Jong is better though. Winks is tidy and keeps the ball moving, but he doesn't place many forwards passes
