I'm getting fuckin bored of this conversation myself now tbh.
For the record, I think he will have a good season and become a regular in the England squad.
But as a few have said and I agree it's over, the past.
Next question, who are we going to sign to strengthen our midfield, which is the weakest out of the top 4 and how are we going to do it considering our homegrown issues?

Well someone made the decision he wasn't for us?
Our transfer committee includes the scouting team"
22 mill (transfer fee and agents fee) was deemed a gamble. One good season injury free and he will be worth double that
I would guess the ultimate decision is by the person spending the money/negotiating the transfer and that person did not want to spend that much on agent fees because they don't do that. The scouts can identify all the targets they want, if the person responsible for buying players won't pay to get them then what can they do.

Grealish was the one in the summer but from what we've been told the person spending the money wanted to pay less and Grealish has since signed a new 5 year deal

Ha ha, yeah I get your point.
But surely that's what medicals are for, just have a really bad feeling he is going to do extremely well at the chavs
I understand what your saying but from my perspective I am not too worried about missing out on him as some have suggested we now have Moura who I think has a higher ceiling than RB.

Not sure we can for what would be sufficient, we need to reshuffle the deck regarding HG and get a lot of players out to evaluate where we need to target HG players for. GK is a no brainer to start. Another would be trying to alter the rules to get Dier HG, crazy that the rules were to promote English youth and we have an England international who doesn't count as HG..

There is a common denominator with both those statements.
But the fact is if you want to be considered one of the big boys, you have to act like it.
I don't agree with agent fees but that is part of football unfortunately.
All clubs do it

I agree moura does but he plays as a wide forward, I would of played Barkley in a midfield 2
God I'm boring myself now

My math could be off and I'm not totally sure about Ben Davies but we only need to add one HG player to the roster to get to the magical number of 8. Trippier, Rose, Winks, Kane, Dele, KWP, Davies. That's 7, if we add a HG 3rd string goalie we're at 8 which is the max you need. From there we can just trade out members of the squad to achieve what we need. At CM Wanyama and Dembele could be traded out for new non HG midfielders.

Its an issue thats really being over blown when you look at it in further detail.

Davies not homegrown
Ludicrous just like dier
Even then, in a dream scenario if you added a HG GK and let Vorm leave and traded out Llorente for a guy like Callum Wilson or Joshua King you have 8 HG players.

You could also alleviate pressure (won't be a popular opinion right now) if you swapped Sissoko out for Onomah. That would be a no brainer for me. Onomah in and a HG gk and you're at 8, that without Davies counting.

Riqui Puig highly rated youngster out of La Masia over at Barcelona. ITK said we were in for him early in the summer but he signed a new contract with Barca. If there was ever a player who would struggle with the "physicality of the premier league" its him right now. Although he's young so theres plenty of time to grow.

Thank you. Ah yeh I remember some talk a while back. Didn't associate as I used to work occasionally for an art director with the same surname but he pronounced it 'pwaig'.. Thanks also for the lowdown, I don't know him as a player.
