SPORT reporting that Rabiot is being offered to us and juve for just 10 million euros as PSG are doing everything possible to keep him away from Barca. Also saying that Barca is lining up Ndombele as an alternative.

At 10m euros, rabiot is an absolute no brainer. As soon as he signs for us, that price quadruples. Not to mention he's also quite good at football.

EDIT: I'm not good at the whole Spanish thing, so I can't find if it's their own info or not. They're presenting it as if it is tho

The transfer fee is not the only or main expense in a deal. His wage demands will determine if he is a steal or not.

Paris United was quoting him asking for 150k euros p/w, which is "big" for us but we're offering our key players more than that so I'd assume it's within the wage structure.

Maybe but if he flops then the wages makes him an expensive deal.

Anyways, back to players that are currently being discussed for transfers there is this:
(Sam Lee is considered Tier 1 for City news)

Club is now becoming a bit of a joke if this were to be true. How many world class midfielders can one team keep happy lol. All about money I guess.

Holy crap - 7m in agent fees on a 15m player. We can all agree that's immensely fucked up!!

Something I find tough here is that you have said the original post was talking about the missed transfer not being Levy's fault, but you have instantly turned round and said Levy didn't back Poch because he didn't sign him. You're saying it is Levy's fault. That article (and let's be honest it's only football.london) states reasons beyond Levy that it didn't happen but you have blamed Levy for it. It's such a boring thing to hear over and over.

In amongst all this there's actually a pretty interesting point about the impact Barkley may have had if we signed him during that Summer of 2017. We certainly didn't have a "need" for him back then - he probably would have been seen as a long-term replacement for Dembele or as competition to Lamela/Son.
I mean, isn't this just common sense that Levy wasn't going to buy both.. This is the same guy that didn't buy a single fucking player this summer. So Poch had to prioritize (choose) another target in Lucas. I don't see how this is some foreign concept. Did Poch not want any players this summer either? It's the exact same debate here.

We absolutely needed Barkley back then. We had 3 attacking midfielders.

Who do we want?
No-one.
When do we want him
Now.

Not only has he got to fit
the squad structure and chemistry
including temperament and attitude
the Manager's criteria
and the CEO's financial parameters.,
he's got to add something to the squad

Buy 'em young and train 'em up.
Promote our own
and essentially keep our key players.

Another 100 million saved.

Actually if you look at city Barca Madrid their squads are actually quite small. They tend to have 18 real quality players and the rest is made up of kids and a few lesser players. Just don’t think it’s possible to keep 25 top quality players happy. It’s also slight Madness having someone even on 80k if they aren’t even making your matchday squad it’s a very fine balance.

Quick check I’d say city and Barca have about 19 quality players. And I did include Delph and Danilo in that who are a bit borderline.
Although I never quoted the size of the squad I agree we need more quality across those squad numbers and those teams will still have decent options up to and including 25.

Balls out time I reckon

Ndombele and Berge - two young players with obvious sell on value. Would sort us

Time to take a bet on two talented kids

Would be so amazing, my two favorites at the midfield spots. Will never happen unfortunately.

How much would David Brooks cost? Quality.

.
Right now a lot as his stock is high. He is young, performing well in the Prem and his club have no financial need to sell.

Not to say we shouldn’t enquire but if we do then need to be confident he is genuine quality rather than showing good form.

I really hate being rude, but can I suggest you stick to American football, or basket ball.

yep it's common sense Levy doesn't spend any money, he stuck the Bale money in his back pocket, Sanchez, Aurier and Foyth are just figments of your illusion oh then there is Sissoko.

you dug a hole as a Levy basher, and you keep digging. why would anyone that can't afford to waste 22m on a player with a dodgy hamstring, that might come good for Chelsea providing they never start doing double training sessions, and wanted more money than your star player. makes so much sense.

there are so many reasons why we might of not signed anyone in the summer, but like a few others your only thought or excuse is Levy.

Oh I understand the benefits, providing they are good enough. when Chelsea sign Rob Green and people think that's a good idea, then lets hope their 1st 2 are not injured, because the points we gained with Gazzaniga wouldn't be in the pot with Rob f'ing Green(y)

definitely the wrong sport and to much FM, doubt keepers ever get sick or injured in the game

I bash Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban plenty. Don't you worry about that mate.

Never played FM either.
