With older brother Giovani Dos Santos leaving Spurs on loan to Galatasaray , Spanish newspaper Sport has claimed today that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Barcelona starlet Jonathan Dos Santos.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has broken into the Barcelona first team in 2009/2010 and also made his debut for the Mexico national team. Jonathan Dos Santos is out of contract at the end of the season and Sport report that Spurs are watching developments at the Nou Camp.

Jonathan Dos Santos started Barcelona’s match against Villareal earlier this month but can agree a pre-contract with a foreign club. The 5.9ft attacking midfielder is eager to stay at Barcelona.

Giovani Dos Santos, formerly of Barcelona, struggled for first team opportunities under Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp. He made just one substitute appearance for Spurs in the Premier League in 2009/2010.

The 20-year-old forward is closing in on a loan deal to Galatasaray for the rest of the campaign where he would join up with his former manager at Barcelona, Frank Rijkaard.

The agreement includes a clause that the Turkish giants will pay Spurs eight million pounds should they wish to sign Dos Santos permanently in the summer.

  1. JUSTINSIGNAL
I'm sure his brother will give us a glowing review....NOT!!
  2. Pinto
    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

The next story should be about Rebrov little brother or Pav's little brother wanting to come to Spurs to help his career.
  3. tottenham28
To which, we will sign him for £4 million and never give him a chance....
  4. tottenham28
I heard Pavs dad is coming to the club as an English Language Teacher!!!!!:rofl:
  5. yid-down-under
I ts a bit stoopid if we have already agreed a prices with them as his value could go up with a decent world cup
  6. Roscilous
£8m is the agreed price and i wouldnt expect anymore even if he did have a good WC.
  7. Twizzle
I'm sure he'd want to come to Spurs after the way we treated his brother.
  8. Dharmabum
Couldn't make up a better story.

Yes come to Spurs, we can guarantee you'll play for loads of clubs before we sell you on, just not Spurs!

JDS is apparently much the better footballer of the two. Some wisdom suggests our interest in Gio was down to us wanting to get dibs on his brother. Not sure I hold with that but it would make sense us holding on (or at least loaning-not-selling GDS) if it made even marginally more likely to tie up Jonno.

lmao, hopefully Gio will put in a good word for us

Any young talent without EPL experience - especially someone from abroad - would be extremely unlikely to come to Spurs under Harry, if they and their agent have done any homework on Harry's preferential policy. The likes of Gudjonssen may be our limit for now.

This could be a result for anyone who had Gios name put on their new shirt and was gutted to see him go Galatasaray!
  14. UncleBuck
Because our midfiled needs bolstering with another small, creative youngster.

Like we haven't got enough already who aren't getting a look in......

Sharing everyone elses sentiment on this thread. Quite laughable and shame on us for the way we treated Gio

Tottenham's SHAME...wonder why Barca let him go and held on to Messi, Bojan, Gai Asulin, Thiago and JDS? It's over, let it go.
  17. jackhealy
The 8 million pound fee for Giovani suggests that Spurs don't really want to let him go.
I hope he comes back next season as a better player, when we will hopefully have qualified for the champions league and need a large squad of good players.

Hasn't Rose broken into the first team? What about Bale? Huddlestone? BAE to an extent ( a little older but definitely developed massively under Harry)? Even Lennon! Why do they not count as young players in your view?

If they'd done their homework on Harry, they might also see Cole, Ferdinand, Carrick, Lampard. Bit more impressive than Dos Santos and Taarabt don't you think?

Gudjonssen being our limit - rubbish. He's a good player that'll fit in well as a backup target man.
  19. dickyid
Quite laughable that a player so promising internationally thinks that he's above training week in week out, and not focussing on his football. We can all make baseless assumptions on here.
