How is everyone enjoying the championships? I think Ohorughu winning gold yesterday was an outstanding race, but unfortunately there seems to be nobody in the stadiums watching the championships. Maybe they should take note from the rugby authorities and stage the larger championships in countries where interest is high?

Please take a look at my British Team preview for the championships, would appreciate any views and opinions thanks :

I've been watching it and have been disappointed too with the attendances. It makes it the whole thing seem less important than it should be. I really hope the 2018 World Cup won't be played in half-empty stadiums because it will ruin the tournament.

There has been a few good races. The 400m (womens) and both 10ks very very good. I was disappointed for the Chinese athlete in the Women's 10k because she ran a great race, but just couldn't get rid of enough of them before the finish. Shame none of the men tried to challenge Farah in a similar way. Also, it's a bit stupid from the Ethiopians not to allow their athletes to double up in the 5k and 10k.

BTW, why is Yohann Blake there? Is he injured or was he beaten the in the trials?

He's injured unfortunately, it would have made the 100m much more exciting if he were there. The japanese athlete was sad to watch, very reminiscent of watching Paula Ratcliffe when she was a track runner. When the athletes do not have a sprint finish they have to try to break the field which is incredibly difficult when the opposition runners have teammates (Kenya, Ethiopia) and so can share the workload in chasing.

To be fair, as Jonathan Edwards says, she is a product of her environment.

Not that long ago homosexuality was illegal over here. I don't think its that outrageous when you take in to account where she is from and what she has been exposed to.

Mountain out of a mole hill springs to mind. Still, its not the like the UK media to go over the top regarding a pretty trivial incident. Far more disturbing things going on around the globe

Some have suggested there is government influence in her statement. Either way, if those aren't her opinions and she's been told to say it or if she does hold such anachronistic, regressive opinions then she's gone massively down in my estimations.

One of the American 800m runners said he had planned to wear a rainbow sticker in support of homosexuals but was told if he did so he'd be arrested. For those saying that a boycott of Sochi wouldn't have the same effect as going and competing and making their stance, looks like they won't even be able to do that.

Just as well Isinbaeva's retiring as I'd imagine Adidas would have dropped her fast.

She did a really cool lap of honour. Magnificent pole vaulter.

Bloody hell, Gabby was wearing a short dress tonight. Almost felt embarrassed and worried at certain times that the viewing public were going to see more than they bargained for.
