Doesn't anyone in England realise that they're wasting their time competing to host the 2018 World Cup. There is no way in hell England will win the rights to host it.

Think about it, so far there are two countries who have confirmed that they will enter the race.

England and Australia. Therefore, by simple logic, tradition and everything else Australia will beat England and win the right to host the World Cup.

To those of you who try to argue with me by pointing out the 2005 Ashes and the recent rugby world cup, understand this, thats it for this century, you've beaten Australia twice and for the next 93 years you will just experience loss after loss. Plus this is football, when was the last time England could beat Australia in that?

Add the fact that countries and confederations that would normally blindly vote for England won't, ie Australia, the entire Oceania Confederation, plus every country that hates England, which of course there are more of than those that don't.

The Ozzies will have a good shout I reckon. The success of the 2000 olympics will be a big selling point.

However, an article on the beeb site says: "There are some ground rules. Fifa apparently like to have a maximum of 12 stadia hosting any particular World Cup. Each venue must hold at least 40,000 fans. And they prefer only one city to have more than one ground."

Sydney - Telstra and Aussie Stadium
Melbourne - MCG?? But more likely Telstra Dome
Brisbane - Suncorp Stadium
Perth - New Ground...?

And that's about it..... 4 cities, 5 stadiums. They'd need a few more built and there's not really any other cities that would sustain a 40k + stadium.

I think we've got a big chance of winning. We have the infrastructure, the legacy, the proposed stadia and the backing. We'll prove with London 2012 that we can organise and run an event of that scale.

I'm backing our bid.

Wonder what the england team will look like by then ?? And who will be in charge ??
